I've never heard of a convicted rapist getting a suppression order on his name for mental health reasons.
He was mentally fit enough to stand trial so he should be named now.

I actually had someone tell me it was one of his siblings and I doubt I’m the only one to be on the receiving end of some Chinese whispers.

I assume most people would be in some form of mental health crisis with the consequences of their actions catching up with them. Doesn't at all sound like a valid excuse for leniency in this case.

obv defence lawyer is a crucial job and is inexorable from the presumption of innocence that is core to our system of justice …

But in a case like this it’s basically a team of lawyers getting paid by a millionaire family to gaslight a victim of sexual assault.

Imagine getting cross examined by that for who knows how long, asking deeply personal questions, attacking your credibility, trying to zero in on any possible loose ends or points where memory is lapsed …
