Man Yoo v Arsenal

Was a pretty amusing last 20 minutes or so. Vieira sent off for kicking at RVN after RVN climbed all over him for a header. Lehmann went crazy for no apparent reason??

Then a dodgy penalty in injury time and RVN blasts it off the crossbar :D Oh boy was I laughing, and the Arsenal players were giving it too him. I think a couple of people might get suspended, in particular Keown for kind off smacking RVN in the back of the head, then their was a blatant push in the back by Wiltord I think on RVN, all this after the final whistle.

I like Arsenal but boy are they dirty, glad Man U didnt win though and RVN is **** at pentaies :D Good result though for a Reds supporter.

Eh?

Shouldn't that be

Manchester United 1 (RVN - penalty from an obvious and totally outrageous hometown decision)

Arsenal 1 (Henry - miles off side)

Nearly got one of the 2 :)

Very entertaining last 3 minutes of the game, could be an interesting week of repercussions

Owen a better penalty taker than VanNoodleboy? :D

Typical 0-0 draw between two boring sides who lack creativity. ;)

RVN tried to copy what Owen did with his penalty against Chelsea. I'm not a fan of going for the top of the net. The degree of difficulty trying to save a ball above your head isn't as hard as trying to save a ball below your knees in the bottom corner.

I thought it was pretty funny, anyway. The way that three or four Arsenal players verbally attacked RVN would fire him up for the next meeting, though. I wouldn't be surprised if he scores a hat-trick in the next meeting between the two.

I expected at least four goals. Apart from the last 20 minutes or so, there wasn't much to get excited about.

Just watched the Vieria red card, and whilst he didn't connect with the boot, from the reverse angle (the angle the ref would've seen), it would've made him think he did, as Ruud pulled back instictively to avoid the foot, and the ref would've thought that would be because of the impact of the boot.

Saw the penalty miss, I think it might be time to hand em over to someone else for a short time.

Spiteful game all round though.

Wouldn`t think so, Arsenal have contained him brilliantly since he`s been in England. Only scored the once from 6-7 games. Very happy with the point , considering who it was, where it was and the mid-week thumping, have to be happy. Loved The Big Huns dance along the line to put old horse head off.

I thought every soccer fan knew the number 1 rule of taking penalties ...

... NEVER let a dutchman take an important penalty.

Even the dutch know this rule to be true and will happily repeat it.

Was a pretty tedious game. The first half Man Utd attacked every single time through Ronaldo which became so predictable. The second half was all about Ronaldo sticking to the touchline and Llundberg going forward and central. Became a big game of chicken to see who would blink and man-up on each other. Almost no one else was involved.

I know everyone hates referees but in the case of the sending off he probably had the worst view of the millions who will have watched it at home and live. From his angle it had to be a sending off. What was Viera doing kicking-out. The petulance of some of the big-names is amazing sometimes.

And the penalty decision? I honestly don't have an opinion, for mine it was the absolute definition of one that could have gone either way.

Lehmann psyched him out no doubt.

I enjoyed the game despite the lack of scoring.

A point each is good news for the following pack.

I tell you what Arsenal are f***ed now, the FA will be sitting there rubbinng their hands wondering just how many Arsenal players they can ban now. We've still got Sol Campbell's ban to come from the previous Man U game.

It's outrageous how they can appoint the same referee who so upset Arsenal in the community shield game, at the very least it smacks of insensitivity at worst they wanted someone there with a history of anti Arsenal behaviour.

Vieira's first booking was an absolute joke, it didn't even look like a foul to me, the second one was debatable but the ref seemed to love it & then the penalty at the end was a joke.

Vieira is out for the Chelsea game (unless the ref reconsiders either of his bookings which of course he won't) & Lauren is bound to get done as will probably Keown. If we think we've defensive problems now just wait till all that lot get banned.

There's no doubt that Arsenal's behaviour at the end was way over the top but personally i enjoyed it.

Up until all that it was apretty poor game really, with neither side looking too hot.Chelsea for the title anyone?

i thought it was pretty disgraceful from arsenal, ruud didn't deserve what he got. i didn't see the whole game (so i don't know if he 'dived' and 'cheated' as much as wenger implied) but all he really did in the incident with vieira was try to avoid his boot.

imo, arsenal's discipline problems stem from wenger. he will never accept responsibility for his player's actions, and until he does, they will have continue to have disciplinary problems. arsenal remind me of essendon, in that they have a bad reputation for being dirty, thus, anything they do is magnified more than any other team.

RVN should still take the penalties. He is a great penalty taker and he misses one and all of the sudden he should be replaced.

Disgraceful from both teams.

Manchester United: RVN thing and the Penalty
Arsenal: What they did to RVN afer he missed was disgraceful.

Fine then stay with Ruud, but if he starts to miss again, i will be even more concerned.

I think that was his third miss in a row, but unless it is starting to get to him I wouldn't replace him just yet.

Disgraceful from both teams.

Handbags at ten paces. From what I saw neither side would be proud of themselves (especially Arsenal) but I think people are getting a bit carried away with the whole thing.

I can't believe RVN doesn't get a shedload of cards each season, the foul on Vieira was certainly a bookable offence but nothing more. I don't even think his reaction to Vieira's kick was that much over the top, but I think past history of his acting has more to do with what went on. Ferguson said on the weekend that he had to speak to one of his players about his consistent diving, wonder who that could have been. ;)

But perfectly understandable and quite funny (to some). :D

I am sure they all realise now how stupid they looked, but really there wasn't a whole lot in it, and certainly nothing that you wouldn't see at an Aussie Rules game week in week out. I am also fairly confident that the United players would have that five minutes firmly in their memory before the return fixture, Arsenal may well live to regret what they did.

My money is on Nicky Butt.

If he takes a dive, he should at least try to make it look convincing.
