A win is a win I guess but we weren't great let's be honest
Think Rafa going off was precautionary. My predicted line-up for Chelsea is

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Nani Carrick Cleverley Kagawa
Rooney
Hernandez

Well geelong won and united lost, that usually happens. I knew as soon as we had that 2-2 draw with them at OT that we were going out, I was right. Our last month or do has been poor, for a team that is 15pts clear at the top of the EPL and not be in any other competition is pretty poor IMO. Failed again in the FA Cup, just can't get it right in that comp.

Bit harsh in my opinion.

We were cruely dumped out of ECL and the FA Cup is like that, you can get knocked out at anytime. We were beaten this morning by a great goal and a wonder save at a ground that nobody has won in the FA Cup since 2003!

Granted we should never have needed a replay however if you recall the later stages of the tie at OT we were just hanging on for the draw.

EPL was always our #1 priority, we look likely here so as we have stated, well maybe I have stated that anything beyond that is a bonus.

how poor have our wingers been this season?

To right, particularly Valencia who is a shadow of his past performances. The other 2 are backyard bullies to be honest. Our best player for consistency has been Carrick, I wrote him off a few years ago but he has been excellent this season and then Rafael as the next. Others have contributed along the journey but these 2 have been our best performers for mine.

Ashley Yoúng, Nani, Antonio Valencia

2011/12 : 24 goals and 42 assists; goal/assist every 131 mins.

2012/13: 3 goals and 17 assists; goal/assist every 256 mins.

Among the 4 wingers we have, Ryan Giggs, at the age of 39, is currently our best winger. Speaks volumes

Let's just beat $hitty. 18 points would mean that it's all over red rover. We're not in great form so I can't see it happening tbh but I didn't think we'd beat them earlier in the season either. Rafa and Rooney have to play!! I hope SAF didn't risk them and their injuries aren't serious. Anyone else think Jones could do the job on Toure like he did on CR7, Bale and Fellaini?
I always trust Sir Alex but if he starts Valencia again he's gone senile. Nani wasn't much better. Young was actually good off the bench and should have got an assist if it wasn't for Van Persie bottling it. From memory, he also played well against City last time.
I think we should go
...........De Gea.........
Rafael Vidic Evans Evra
......Carrick Jones.......
Young..Rooney....Kagawa
..........VanPersie.........

Bench: Lindgaard, Ferdinand, Buttner, Cleverley, Nani, Welbeck, Hernandez

The way the hawks are going, United probably won't win another game for the season

Whats with all the United sulky negativity....FMe move on they cant win everything they play in and they wont play well every time they hit the park....Snap out of it please

It's not so much that they lost yesterday but that they didn't look interested and played below themselves. After the Madrid loss I was as proud as ever to be a red devil

You should always be proud to be a red devil.

All I will say is as long as we win the title I will be happy. That should be #1 priority for us and it looks like we'll get it, but if we **** it up again I won't be happy. I wouldn't mind so much if we lost it to Arsenal or even Liverpool (ok, maybe not) but to lose it to those $ugardaddy clubs really grinds my gears

Exert taken from a Soccernet Blog that I thought might be useful -

The desire of some supporters to win multiple trophies each year is, in some sense, admirable: No club gets big, and stays big, without ambition. At the same time, though, the expectation of success is relatively new, and also quite problematic. For all of Manchester United's titles, financial power and marketing might, it is always important to remember how fragile the architecture of their supremacy once was -- and, in some sense, still is. Both of the club's UEFA Champions League titles, in 1999 and 2008, came down to the last kick of the match against opponents who were arguably far superior on the night. Several of their league championships came down to only a few points. Behind it all, of course, Ferguson has remained the constant, unstoppable impetus. Thanks to him, Manchester United's permanent place on the podium seems effortless.

At times like these, though, it is useful to reflect on those other clubs whose dynasties seemed as though they would proceed forever. Liverpool, in the 1980s, were so relentlessly brilliant that, were you to send them forward in time to the modern day, most people would have expected them to have won at least ten more titles. Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, undermined by his capricious transfer policy and the weight of cold, hard debt, looked for some of the 2000s as if they would reign supreme for the entire decade. Jose Mourinho's Chelsea, had they not succumbed to United in the Premier League title race of 2006-07, might have won an unprecedented number of consecutive championships.

So it is, then, that Manchester United's defeat to Chelsea should not be received with too much despondency. Rather, it should be met with the knowledge that, until the arrival of Ferguson at Old Trafford, the concept of a Double was something distant and revered, almost unthinkable. Moreover, as the old saying goes, "All glory is fleeting". Ferguson is the exception to that ageless rule. This loss, therefore, is not a time for recrimination; but a time to gaze gratefully from the mountain-top, knowing that few can survive this climb, still less survive long at this altitude.

United only need 9 points from 24 to claim the title.

Enough negative talk!

We need to make sure of it, but 9 + our goal difference should be enough.

On another topic, Liverpool v Melbourne Victory will attract the biggest collection of flogs and nuffies to the MCG outside of Anzac Day. Scarily enough, I reckon a lot of them would go for both teams. Apologies to any Victory, Collingwood or Essendon supporters - your love of MUFC redeems you - just.:D

Cup Final this Tuesday morning in a way. If we win or even draw that would have to be the league title!

Win or lose, it's going to make no difference to the league.

But hopefully we can give Fergie a few more sleepless nights after last season.

If we are level on points they will have the superior GD I can guarentee because we would have had to have dropped 15 points.
Victory supporters + Australian Liverpool supporters= Hectic full sick crowd
