Ah well, good thing we're playing QPR. Ease him back for Norwich and then should be right for the 2nd leg.
Gotta love our squad depth in these situations.

QPR actually have a pretty god squad. Would have rathered him out for Norwich honestly. It will mean Kagawa will play probably then

Yeah true, no way i would underestimate them but just glad it's not a team in the top half of the table. The points they've picked up in the last 5 games or so, a lot of credit has to go to Cesar. They've drawn 4 and lost 1 in the last 5 but could've lost all of them without him.

If Kagawa plays, it'll be one of the few times he would play in his natural CAM position for us so hope he plays.

So you don't think we will play RVP and Hernandez up from with Carrick and Clevers/Anderson central?
Yeh actually I'd go with that so Chicha can prove from himself from starting. I think we should go

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Nani Carrick Anderson Kagawa
RVP
Hernandez

Bench: Lindgaard Smalling Buttner Cleverley Valencia Welbeck Young

Valencia doesn't deserve to start on current form. Lucky to be on the bench tbh.

Vidic is an interesting on. Sir Alex likes to give him a weeks break in between match which is why he didn't start in Madrid so he probably won't play this one as he played against Reading but.....
1. We may need him for Samba who always gave us trouble while at Blackburn
2. Sir Alex will probably wants him for Madrid so he will need to break the pattern somehow (the pattern being him playing every 2nd game) because Madrid is 2 games after this one and he's on track to miiss it. If that makes sense

I think we'll go:

DDG
Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra
Nani, Carrick, Cleverley, Young
Kagawa
RVP

If i remember correctly, Chicharito played the full 90 in the cup. Young got subbed for RVP so i expect him to start on the wing.
Kagawa hasn't played since Madrid so i would think he would start too.

Apparently Rooney made it into the squad for this weekend.
yeh apparantely

he traveled as well as taking part in a full training session this morning albeit he played at CB

Ok so Norwich next up and a few days later we have Madrid. I would select the team with Madrid in mind and have some stars on the bench. I would go

De Gea
Valencia Smalling Rio Buttner
Cleverley Anderson
Young Rooney Kagawa
Hernandez

Lindgaard Rafael Evans Nani Welback RVP Carrick
Evans is an interesting one. Hasn't played in the last 2 so he would probably play soon but I think we need him forMadrid so maybe don't play him vs Norwich. Vidic and Rio would be too slow imo and Vidic and Evans would be a much better pairing.
Rooney needs game time and we can't be too weak for Norwich
IMO that team should be able to get the job done and if if we arent winning we can bring on RVP and Carrick

Tough predicting a lineup this week. First of all, the lineup i would like to see against Madrid is:
de Gea
Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra
Cleverley (Jones??), Carrick
Welbeck, Rooney, Kagawa
RVP
Rooney will drop back into midfield like last game, Welbeck will stay on Coentrao's shoulder and be alert for possible counters, Cleverley will try his best to do a Jones, and Kagawa will cut in looking for those delicate through balls to RVP. Maybe some would have Nani in there but i think we'll play an efficient type of game and IMO Kagawa will be suited better to that. Prediction: 2-1 W.

Our lineup for the league match vs Everton a couple of days before the 1st leg was:
de Gea
Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra
Jones, Cleverley
Valencia, Rooney, Giggs
RVP
7 of those players also started the Madrid match.

I think the lineup for the match vs Norwich will be:
de Gea
Rafael/Smalling, Ferdinand/Smalling, Evans, Evra
Cleverley/Giggs, Anderson
Valencia, Rooney, Kagawa
Hernandez
Sub Kagawa, Cleverley and Rooney at some point in the game. Evans is capable of playing 2 games in a couple of days and needs game time for preparation, Kagawa needs game time, Rafael or Ferdinand could make way for Smalling i think. Jones has to feature at some part if he is to play a couple days later? Prediction: 2-0 W.

Also, i'm actually getting a feeling that Ferdinand could partner Vidic against Madrid as "slow" as that sounds...their experience might count.

It will be interesting to see who is chosen. I for one like to see one of Vidic/Ferdinand and one of Evans/Smalling in each game. IMO Vidic and Ferdinand are too slow to play together while Evans and Smalling are to weak and inexperianced to play together.

I also wonder whether we will play Rafa against Norwich. We HAVE to have him playing vs Madrid and I don't want to risk him getting injured against Norwich but I don't know who else we could put at RB. Maybe Valencia but he hardly fills me with any confidence at RB
