Sounds to me like he wants to stay.

I think the announcement will be about his hip surgery and that he will be absent for the start of next season.

Just speaking to relatives over in Liverpool and there's strong rumors going around that Moyes will work under Ferguson for a season or 2 then take over from SAF. Don't know how much merit there is to those rumors, guess you'll all find out on the weekend

Do you really want Mourinho though? He doesn't stay long anywhereand is only interested in short term success although he didn't get much of that at all during his current Real tenure (1 trophy in 4 seasons). As a long term prospect Klopp/Moyes is a far better move unless the club wants a Champions League trophy ASAP.

At 71 I'm surprised Sir Alex is still there. He's done all he can do in terms of success, will be remembered as one of the greats and has nothing to prove. I'd have retired a few years earlier if it were me!
