Yep, how did that turn out for Brett? Now stuck up in Sydney banged up yet again whilst the club he should have stayed at continues to rack up wins.

Isn't the lament coming out of Carlton that they are young and need more senior leadership. You don't let your best senior player walk out for yet another draft pick that may be no higher than 19 anyway. How much leadership would they have if Murphy goes? Hats off to him for staying the course.

Sure has, but when he was leaving Port people were lining up to say that his knee was cactus and that he’d struggle to get through another contract.

I see the statute of limitations on 'I-told-you-so' hasn't run out on this one yet... 9 years and still going strong.

We've still taken our fair share of young draftees, many have debuted, and going into this season only Taylor and GAJ were over 30. Selwood and Hawkins joining that group this year.

Would rather target a ruck via FA/Trade, Dahlhaus via FA and if Kelly wants to go home then try and do a deal for Gaff/Cerra if they want out.

Then a top kid with our R1 pick and F/S's with later picks.

I don't see it all.

We have stuff all salary cap space and don't need a midfielder or another player that can't get on the park.

I think managers are just throwing Geelong's name out there now as a leverage play like they did Collingwood back in the day because we have been happy to take players from other clubs recently.

Where did I say that?

Just don’t want him as he’s too old for us to go after, and would prefer chasing Dahlhaus. Chasing Gaz then Murphy in successive seasons isn’t too wise imo.

Let alone he may not fit in the midfield, would also prefer Hall, and I don’t overly want Hall.

You are aware how many players with under 50 games experience we play most weeks including against you last week? We have been rebuilding for years most of the older guys are gone. As for Murphy he's a class player so if he's not asking for huge wages I wouldn't say no but I would have thought a ruck and a key forward are bigger priorities for us.
