So you’re comparing the score involvement and goal assist numbers of a guy who spent the great majority of the game playing in defence (Windhager), to the numbers of a guy who played presumably the whole game on or around the ball (Ward)? Is it really a big game when your team has 400 possessions for 8 goals?
He had 0 GA and 4 SI. Josh Ward, by comparison had 21 possessions for 11 SI. The Saints spent the day chipping the ball back and forth waiting for Richmond to fall asleep, then went into attack.
8 players scored 100+ fantasy points. For 8 goals.

Exactly how many goal assists would you expect from a guy who played predominantly across half back?
He's asking for the same that Aleer would be getting paid (based on reports). Why woupd he leave Saints if GWS are offering less? He’ll fit in well in the Giants midfield group. Trade scenario will be interesting as the Saints will certainly be paying Aleer more than what we’ll pay Windhager.
But TDK is worth $1.7mill, Harley Reid is worth $2mill and Aleer is worth whatever stupid number has been thrown around?Talk is that he’s asking us to pay him $850K PA and I think it’s pretty much unanimous on our board here that he’s highly useful, but simply isn’t worth a contract like that at this stage.
I wouldn’t have even thought that another club would be willing to offer him that to leave, let alone us being required to pay him that to stay.
He’s got a lot going for him, is very versatile (has played good games in the middle, on the wing and now down back, so far this year), but you’d still be paying him largely on potential if you were to pay him $850K PA.

I probably wouldn’t compare him to either. Both of those guys are huge units (both listed at 192cm), whereas Windy is listed at 185cm, and is a real endurance beast, with very good speed and agility, so he’s much better suited to outside running roles than Green, while also obviously having the ability to play inside.Much different player to Finn. I see Windhager more in the Tom Green mould
It’s a fair point, and I guess the reason for that is pretty simple. But TDK is worth $1.7mill, Harley Reid is worth $2mill and Aleer is worth whatever stupid number has been thrown around?
Seems like Saints are willing to splash ridiculous money everywhere but on their own players....
.Wind is miles better those other 2 you quoteApparently they said on Gettable that the clubs chasing him hard are Melbourne and Essendon. With North also sniffing around. But apparently they said he’s a super-loyal bloke, who will stay if we come to the table sufficiently.
We’re really in the exact same sort of position with him now that we were in when we gave the likes of Billings and Gresham fat contracts. They too were young and showing lots of promise, but were not yet fully proven.
And they never really lived up to them, which is why our cap was bulging about 4-5 years ago, yet we were mid-table.
So this would be why we’re wary of going this high with Windy. It’s still a sizeable gamble. He could be another Billings or Gresham, or he could be another Steele.
Yeah so what do we reckon? So in draft picks... whats people thoughts on what his worth?
Yeah I think so. Was trying to think of a trade of player of similar age and experience recently amd came up with Liam Henry who went for Saints future 2nd round pick (plus a swap of future 4ths), which ended up being pick 25 (pick 34 on the night after all the FA,FS and priority picksYeah so what do we reckon?
Mid-range second rounder?

AgreeHe's obviously not leaving. People are sucked in so easily to the drivel fed out by managers and the media.
