Or there is a middle road where they can meetGut feel is you just pay what he is asking with Windhager. His contract demands are very reasonable when compared to others
You wouldnt think he would want to leave but deservedly needs a decent increase

Well, that's the relevant question, isn't it? Does he recommit because he's mates with Nas and wants to continue playing with him (which is entirely reasonable), or does he continue to look elsewhere for (a) the chance to play a pure midfield role & (b) more $$ than Saints are willing to pay him? He’ll sign on now Nasiah has committed.

Not at those respective times of their careers.Wind is miles better those other 2 you quote
Billings and Gresham had real question marks on them similar stage career

We will see in the fullness of time. The former outcome would not surprise me in the least.

Well that's the Giants out of contention thenGerard Healy and Sam Edmund intimated that North have offered him 800k.

Strange that North would be going after ANOTHER midfielder tbh.I'd be shocked if he left if that was the offer.
I expect we'll pay him similar and he'll stay. Still a lot to play out for us though.

I think 800k is pretty big overs for him currently. If that's what the offer is....I'd be thinking again about matching if I was StKilda.
But I guess you're splashing cash so may as well
Yeah it will depend a lot on what may or may not happen for us re: TDK, Marshall, Steele, etc
We may not have the money to match.
Oh I didn't think the Reid thing was real. WildWe are in the race for Reid are we not? So plenty spare but how much of that do we want to allocate to Windhager which in turn lowers next years war chest is the question.

We get smashed in transition every week. We have plenty of attacking mids but need a hard two-way running type for balance.Strange that North would be going after ANOTHER midfielder tbh.

Couldn't North just transition a few of their dozen midfielders into that role? Why bring more in?
We tried with Powell and it didn't work, Wardlaw provides great pressure but can't sustain it over a full match. LDU has played more defensively minded this year and it's diminished his impact, he excels like on the weekend when he's focused on his offensive game.Couldn't North just transition a few of their dozen midfielders into that role? Parker isn’t far off reaching the end and Phillips will be gone this offseason.Couldn't North just transition a few of their dozen midfielders into that role? Why bring more in?
