yeah i realise im fighting a losing battle as there is no way we could possibly question the inclusion of the great Mark Ricciuto but u tell me he didnt look completely unfit and not ready(again i expect argument here as im questioning Mark Ricciuto)

He contributed to a level that Jericho would have struggled to match.

It was a no-brainer as far as selections go.

Thankfully you live in a society where everyone is entitled to an opinion. I think you've read way too much into the 3 goals he kicked last week.

It wasn't just the 3 goals, it was the other work around the ground that he did as well. And it wasn't just last week either. As I am entitled to an opinion (as you so graciously point out), perhaps you will just accept it as my opinion rather than trying to change it or tear it down.

While I agree he should not have been dropped, there is no way you could say his being in the team would have changed the outcome with any certainty. I am hoping, as others have suggested, that Jericho will get another chance - and perhaps, just maybe, this week off will make him realise how much he wants it. Injuries to Perrie and Reilly should see him return next week.

Yeah no doubt he will likely be back this week with Reillys injury but once again no doubt when Reilly, Burton, Perrie and the like are fit no matter how well Jezza has played it will be sorry Luke back to Norwood you go, i believe after seeing his 3 games he has played, that he has realised how much he wants it and had done nothing wrong to get dropped but i guess he just will have to put up with unfair and stupid treatment because he played a shocker in a pre season Grand Final

Now THAT is a crock of shit. Roo certainly did not out perform Jericho's game from last week!

Having said that, what he did do, was pleasing and promising. Will be interesting to see how he pulls up tomorrow.

You know what. I dont think anyone will argue with you. I expect that you will largely be ignored.

You know what either way doesnt bother me you cant possibly suggest Mark Ricciuto was fit enough to be playing AFL footy this week and no doubt Jericho would have helped the team alot more than Ricciuto did.

Again, to be fair to Craig - I am sure if Jericho comes back in and performs at least at the same level over another few weeks, they won't be as quick to drop him.

Is it just me or have we finished round 10. Or are we still stuck in round 9.

How can you form an opinion on whether Jericho would have outperformed Roo on his game against Carlton.

Where he was allowed to cruise around without an opponent for most of the game.

More than likely in todays pressure cooker, Jezza would have gone missing.

Flogging a dead horse here dude. I'm sure Jenny has got Jezza confused for someone else.
;)

Hang on, if I can't say how Jericho would have performed WHICH I DIDN'T, you can't say how he would have gone missing either! Read the words, slowly... you will see I said IMO, that Roo's game today was not as good as Jericho's game of last week (in terms of possessions, effectiveness or goals kicked). Can't compare how Jericho played today obviously now could I?

Had Jericho been out for 41 weeks with various injuries???

Lets see if Roo keeps his spot next week then shall we? That might answer your question.

Jenny has a brain that she uses all by herself. Not easily lead by opinions that others seem to want to force on her.

Oh, and I was one of the brigade that didn't want Ben Hart to continue to play either. I don't care if my opinion is popular, nor do I care if it is agreed to by anyone else. A bit sad when someone can't call it like they see it.

Opinions are just that: opinions. No right or wrong. Just opinions.

No-one is forcing any opinions on you. Just pointing out that your opinions are well...... Thats why they're opinions right?

Oh, and I was one of the brigade that didn't want Ben Hart to continue to play either.

That was popular opinion

Ok I only saw the first quarter and the end of the second but do you honestly think the only reason we were 6 goals down at half time was because we played Roo instead of Jericho?????[/QUOTE]

Nope not the only reason at all and i never suggested that, i just suggested that IF Jericho plays we win the game, sure i believe Roo playing for Jericho was a contributing factor as to why we were 6 goals down at half time as Roo wasnt up to it, sure he got a bit better but Jericho would have been right from the beginning as he was fit, i believe if Jericho played we are less down at the half and come home stronger as Jericho was fitter and could run the game out strongly.

Taking the emotional bullshit that we seem to be wading through OUT of the equation...

I have NEVER said that ROO shouldn't be playing. I DID say that I didn't think Jericho should have been dropped (based on form and our current desperate need for someone that kicks goals).

I wouldn't expect Roo would be dropped next week any more than I expected Jericho to be dropped this week.

You seem to be under the impression that I am blinded and can only see heavens knows what. I remember all too well his pathetic efforts of that pre-season GF which makes his performances in the last couple of weeks (against the odds and expectations of EVERYONE) all the more special.

And I will also add, that I like to SUPPORT our players, unlike many in here who seem to derive pleasure out of tearing strips off them at every opportunity.

Actually no it wasn't. I remember it was a very polarising event!

Exactly.

I was disappointed by Jezza's dropping also - while it was inevitable Roo had to come back and rightly so, I thought there were better options out there to make way, rather than someone who brings something so unique to the side in the way that Jez does. He's practically a Brett Burton clone in what he can offer.

It'd be trite to take on an 'I told you so' mentality at this point, but jeez, we could've done with his sort of electrification on the expanses of the G today.

Gun, what can we say. I honestly thought he looked fantastic out there, body wise. He looks strong, fit, fast, but just lacking the match practice. I see no reason why can't play half of each quarter on the ball and then rotate through the forward line and interchange. Was very impressed today. 3 weeks time he will be the Roo of 3 years ago. :) Champion.

As a measure of respect for your many very good opinions in the past, I will refrain from posting my first thoughts when I read your post DT, but, have you been on the turps?:D

You were taking the piss werent you?

Sorry Wood Duck but I agree with DT - Jericho is able to do the things that most of our backbone group can't (ouch that hurt to admit in my love of all things team orientated). He also has that ability that you just want to shoot him for the stupid brain fades ala Burton.

I have been disappointed in you guys going after Jenny - at no stage did she say that Roo should not have been in, she was disappointed in that one of our form players from the week previously was dropped and couldn't see why. Initially I was the same but I can only surmise that it had to be one of the Forwards and you couldn't drop Porplyzia after only 1 game in as that is not Craig's style. He gives them a couple of games first up. Personally it would have been Porplyzia in my mind to be dropped instead of Jericho as that was more a like like player against Roo. But that would have been a very harsh decision too.

Actually I'm pretty sure that is what she said.

Absolutely ridiculous that Jericho was dropped for an unfit Roo who will play off the bench in 5 minute bursts! I love Roo, but to drop someone who is currently in-form and showing us what he is made of is nuts. His confidence would be at an all time low.

Not happy Jan!
