I'll admit to having a change of heart. I've underestimated him like many have and I'm actually looking forward to his debut for the Bombers.

Kicking 242 goals in 111 games for the Hawks is a good track record. He was Hawthorn's leading goal kicker for both 2005 and 2006 with over 60 goals in each. 2007 was a bit of a patch because of a knee injury.

He made up for it in 2008 with a good performance, as well as being the leading goal kicker in the 2008 Grand Final with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Despite Franklin and Roughhead marching about, he's made a good effort of himself to keep doing what he's doing, and I reckon he'll fit right into the "up and coming but not quite there yet" Essendon forward line in the next 3 years or so. :)

Here's a quick Mark Williams highlight's video I made from the 2008 Grand Final...

His incredible work ethic from 1:00+ gets me really excited about the X-factor Knights was talking about.

70+ if the knee is right by Round 1. :thumbsu:

Hated the way he carried himself, the strut, the shotgun his general demeanor, the way he would pull up quickly after taking a mark. He slotted the winning goal against us a few years ago in the wet after doing nothing all day and didn`t he rub it in. I loathed him.
I now love him, particularly love the majority of hawfforn supporters reaction to seeing him in a proper jumper that stands for all that is good in football. hahahah go Willo, rub it right in son.
(Jumper prediction, No.13)

I'll admit, first off I wasn't happy with the trade... the fact that the rumour was a straight swap for Pick 10 or 16 didn't entice me the slightest. But now he's grown on me and I can't wait till he plays his first match for the Dons.

I fear he could be the next 'whipping boy'...

Seems to be fitting in very well:

Don't tell me that's that game against us?

To be honest, I just google imaged Mark Williams Hawthorn.

How ironic that that's Stanton's body.

These Paint jobs are truly disturbing. Anyone seen Inland Empire? (not intending to totally derail thread - sorry)

Sorry man, I'm not mocking or anything like that - they just seem to me, thru size differences and 'facial expressions + body language', to have a whole nightmarish quality which is freaky-deaky. Inland Empire's an awesome film. I think the pics are cool - just scary. Imagine those photoshopped guys chasing you at 3am in a closed supermarket.

To be fair to me, the choke one wasn't meant to be realistic.

But while we're on the HUN photoshops, I just couldn't find the right face to put into this photo, so had to settle for this one.

EDIT: FAIL. will re up in a sec

Should work now:

Was just about to say that Willo looks a bit like Ricky.

It's a horrible photoshop, but the original picture was just begging for it.

I am absolutely itching for the 2010 AFL season to come along have for a long time been a Willo fan and now he is a Bomber i am rapt and to top it off looks like we will finally see an injury free Scott Gumbleton.
Go Bombers

You know the only game Lloyd has dominated from the square in the past two seasons was vs Melbourne '08 where he kicked 8 goals - against a bunch of 18 yr olds.

Good to see a positive Essendon supporter on here

I am guessing that the Melbourne game in 08 is the only game that you have seen in the past 2 years.

Must have missed:

- The 6 goals to start the 2008 season off against North Melbourne

- The one shinning light against Port in Round 7 2008 when we got smashed but he still mananged 5 goals

- Round 3 of this season against Carlton when Lloyd kicked 5 goals and tore the game apart. (And the 4 he kicked in the later match against Carlton)

- The game against Hawthorn this season when Lloyd had 19 possessions, 15 marks and 3 goals in a game no one expected Essendon to win

I just thought I would fill you in on a couple of the games you may have missed. I can update you on many other games in the past 2 years if you need it.

People also need to get past the idea that the Williams trade defeats the purpose of Lloyd leaving.. The players play different roles besides just kicking goals. Lloyd said himself that he felt it was time for him to call it a day, and as hard as it is for us (true) Essendon supporters to accept, we need to trust Lloyd.

- The 6 goals to start the 2008 season off against North Melbourne Fair enough - he played one/two more very good games at FF from Rounds 2-11

- The one shinning light against Port in Round 7 2008 when we got smashed but he still mananged 5 goals vs Alipate Carlisle, all of 18-20 years old at the time...big scalp there

- Round 3 of this season against Carlton when Lloyd kicked 5 goals and tore the game apart. (And the 4 he kicked in the later match against Carlton) - I mentioned that he dominated the 2nd half of the season - after BEING MOVED from FF

- The game against Hawthorn this season when Lloyd had 19 possessions, 15 marks and 3 goals in a game no one expected Essendon to win - Playing - you guessed it! CHF/HF

I just thought I would fill you in on a couple of the games you may have missed. I can update you on many other games in the past 2 years if you need it.

Perhaps you need to take the rose-coloured glasses off and recognise that since 2008 Lloyd has struggled playing soley out of the square - his good games (purely from the square) have come against mediocre opposition/and or inexperienced defenders.

His form when moved to CHF was brilliant - it revived his 2008.
