Anyone know anything?

I started this thread as it may get people who know him.

Mods. Hope this is ok

Collingwood got him to do community service prior to his hearing, i'm assuming the courts took that into consideration and didn't give him any further penalty based on what he had already done.

Just speculation though, it seems to of disappeared off the radar

Thanks. I thought it disappeared but wasn't sure

wow it still hasn't happened? The incident feels like it happened well over a year ago...
Court cases take a long time. Also we would make sure it doesn't happen during the season.

On a side note, how well did he do with this hanging over his head?

Welcome to the justice system. At least he got bail, they actually lock some people up for that amount of time before they've been found guilty of anything.

Marley was amazing for us this year, I am a big fan of his hardness on the field. But his court case is a serious matter, and there is a victim out there. Due process will take its course, and Marley his punishment, if warranted. He is young and if he learns from this and keeps out of trouble, he will gain much respect. Agree with Tbone, he did so well in 2013 with this hanging over his head. Hopefully that is a sign of strong character, and if he emerges from this a better person, it can't hurt his football either.

Now I'm purely speculating here, but how do you know the 'victim' wasn't the protagonist?
Going back to your home town when you've made something of yourself always upsets the locals for no other reason than jealousy.

Seeing as though Marley is small in stature, I wouldn't be surprised if this kid thought he could stand over him and belittle him to no end, threaten physical violence, or even act out on that threat.

How do we know this isn't a case of simple self defence?

Surely not for a whole year?

I agree 'victim' is a poor choice of word, and I withdraw it.

I'm almost certain this is how it went down.

Pretty rare (despite what most believe) that a footy player just randomly goes out of their way to just, you know...punch someone. Even when they're drunk.

Even Heath Scotland was standing up for his brother (I think). Most footy players aren't Brendan Fevola.

It happens, the criminal justice system is seriously underdone.
Jeez. So do you know what happens if they are found not guilty? Hopefully its not just "sorry pal, off you go"

Pretty much sums up WA save for 2 or 3 tidy areas.

There is a good pub there. It's an old joint, can't remember the name of it. Denmark is OK too, some good wineries.

If the jury's from Albany then Marely's sure to get off. They're all interbred down there. :p

They could also be related to the victim.
