i'm pretty sure if the doc is switched on enough and believes you they will protect you anyway. just a matter of who the shield goes to

The doctor can reveal himself as he will be protected anyway.

There's no risk unless the doc can't heal himself more than once. But it doesn't say this in the rules

My issue with this is that at some point we might need the doctor to protect the Seer or the Vig and it's going to get tricky

We shouldn't need to worry about that for a while. Plus by then us flogs might be able to kill anyway

Also worth adding that it's basically an unwritten rule these days that you can't pass the amulet back to the person you got it from
