What do you guys think are the chances of getting a ticket on the day are like?

the only reason I ask is that I have been "booked" already, but I am liable to be given a leave pass on Saturday morning......

I reckon you'd be half a chance, even if its standing room.
Always worth going along early to see if people are selling unwanted tix as well.
Friday papers should give u an indication of ticket sales.

Thanks, Will havea quick look at the papers on Friday just in case.

Re: Get those tickets the real hawks will return

From afl.com.au;

All AFL Full and Silver Members (excluding Absentee Members) have access* to the above final.

This match is classified as a ‘Reserve Seat Ticket Event’, meaning that all patrons will require a designated seat ticket to enter the venue. A minimum allocation of 6,000 seats will be available for AFL Members to pre-purchase. These seats will be located on Levels 1, 2 and Premium Level 3 areas.

A limit of 2 Guest Passes per membership will be available to purchase for this match, with a maximum limit of 2,000 Guest Passes available to AFL Members**.

Prime category reserved seating and guest passes on Level 3 are currently available to AFL Members through Ticketmaster outlets, by phoning 1300 888 081 or online via ticketmaster.com.au. Additional transaction fees will apply to telephone and online bookings. Level 1 and 2 areas allocated to AFL Members for this match have been exhausted.

It is highly recommended that AFL Members wishing to attend this match pre-book their seat to avoid disappointment.

Should there be standing room capacity available on the day of the match, AFL Members will be able to scan their Membership card at any gate to access standing room areas at no charge. Members can check whether or not standing room areas will be available for this match from 3pm on Friday 7th September.

With that said, I would be surprised if this game drew more than 45,000.

Why is that Hawkk? Surely we can fill the Dome for a final, i mean we cracked 50,00 against the Blues earlier this year...

That was with two Victorian teams though...

I think it will get close to capacity this week, as a fair few Crows will probably rock up.

Say 25-30k hawk fans.
Up to 10k travelling and expat crows.
5-10k neutrals.
equals 45-50 max

At the MCG - where the MCC and AFL members turn up on mass, I reckon this game would have cracked 60,000, but being at the Telstra Dome - where the vast majority of the crowd will be only Hawthorn supporters, anything over 45,000 would be huge.

You've got to remember that game was a "Double Home Game". It was a Carlton home game that Hawks members received free entry to as compensation for one of the games we moved to Aurora. That was a big part of getting 53,000. We almost beat it with the game against the Pies, but that was also the same case.

I reckon you'll be able to get a ticket on Saturday, even if it's just standing. Not much better than standing with the MCG M10 crowd on centre wing if that's the case.

Hope you get "unbooked". ;)

Crowds at the Telstra Dome for finals are also historically very low.

Say we draw 46,000 on Saturday - the largest crowd ever for a finals game at the venue I might add, add 10,000 Series ticket holders, 5,000 more MCC members and 5,000 neutral AFL members and the 46,000 at the Telstra Dome could very easily become 66,000 at the MCG.

Anything over 40,000 is a fantastic result - particularly considering its not even our home ground.

Re: Get those tickets the real hawks will return

Crowds at the Telstra Dome for finals are also historically very low.

Would that be due to the fact that the AFL schedule the games that would draw lower crowds no matter where it's played?

Not exactly, its because all the neutral fans (Series ticket holders, MCC and AFL members) don't get access to the game.

If we played this game at the MCG, you would probably find 45,000 of the supporters at the game would be supporting the 2 clubs, with an extra 15,000 or so neutral fans that get access to the best seats in the house.
