Fair calls there except I cant see McPhee taking Richo. If he does Richo will murder him.

I dont see any need for Johnson to tag this week. Essendon dont really have any major play makers through the centre. Let Jonhson have a run. Our midfield is playing pretty well with the current set up though so if Johnson does tag I can see how it will make it even easier for players like Foley and Tuck to run wild, but I still think we'd be more effective with one of their midfielders trying to tag Johno.

Richmond by 40+

I thinks Lids on Hird would be a better move.

It would give Lids a good grounding into the astute positional running that Hird does and at the same time let him back his judgement on when to follow and when to go. Could be a priceless lesson in his development, and if he wins the one/one contests those afterburners will quickly leave the veteran in his wake.

Give Polo a break from being a run with player and see how he deals with being an extractor with Foley.

This game was a shoot-out last time round and with less to play for this time can't see any reason to ****** our play with too many negative match-ups.

Firstly, I like reading your posts.
Secondly, I agree with playing Deledio on Hird the same way that I reckon Lids should play on Judd the following week.
Polo should be given a free licence this week and see if he can inflict the same sort of damage that he did on them in his debut. he won't be able to slide under the radar this time around, so it will be a perfect opportunity for him to play a different style of game as well as applying the defensive skills he has learned from being a run-with player. if anyone needs to tag, then Johnson will play out his career as a tagger and can do that job this week.

I would have johnson on hird and polo on watson.

Fair call on Deledio in the above posts. Hird is looking slow these days (maybe due to the time of the season) but Deledio is playing fresh, fast football. Match them up and play them head to head, dont have Lids run with Hird that is a waste of a player. Watch Hird struggle.

I think that match ups will be alot more important to Essendon this week than to us. We are playing good footy and basically have a better side than Essendon all over the ground with Lloyd out. They will be sweating on these match ups alot more than us I would think.

Hopefully Wallace will use the lessons learnt from the Hawthorn Game to keep things in check this week.

Lets not forget we only won round 6 by 2 points and since then ;

Richmond: minus Coughlan, Hartigan, Newman, Kelleway?, JON,
Essendon: minus Camporeale, Fletcher, Johnson, Lovett Murray, Hefferman

Polo had a stellar performance, but Lucas almost single-handedly won the game for the Bombers.

with fletcher out i can really see out tall forward line hurting the bombers.

For stages the last few games we have had 3 tall forwards, richo-schulz-stafford, which has worked quite well. I think at one stage we even had 4, richo-schulz-staff-simmo, with patto doin the ruck n krak n bling crumbing the 4 talls.

Say solomon goes 2 richo and mcphee 2 schulz. hoo else do they have 2 cover 1, if not 2, more tall/s.
maybe k. bradley on staff...but staff will easily out-muscle him.

P. Ryder? will get annihalated.
D. Hille? hast played much defense...simmo would dominate
M. Bolton? CRAP!
C. Johns? played as forward...may get pushed back but is no good as a defende.

If TW gets his matchups right(as he usually does)...should definately b a win 4 the tiges! :)

Now that I understand the Dons are eligible for priority picks , they will be desperate NOT to win this game...expect Solomon to play on richo, Paddy Ryder to play on simmo
Cartledge has been named (not Ryder) :( :thumbsd:

As much as i dont want to say this Richmond should win by about 5 goals with the team we named. Sheedy's just trying to pump up trade value of a few players :thumbsd:

'twill be a spanking of pretty big proportions.
sheedy is havin' a laff with that team selection.

tiges by plenty

I reckon the Bombers will keep it reasonably respectable. They played well agianst the hawks from where they were at half time. This said, I can also see it being a bit embarrising for Essendon, and Richmond controlling the game as we did against Brisbane (Fletcher and Johnson out really hurts).

big time, they are in for a tiger whipping. ;)

not convinced entirely on the result....but if we r to show that we r improving and 'heading in the right direction' these are the games you do the job properly...so far we smashed the lions and blues....lets make it a hatrick.

Welsh out hurts them too to an extent. Also they are basically playing two men short with Rioli and Cole in the team, although by saying that it will surely come back and bite me on the bum. Essendon has no incentive whatsoever to win. Win and they get two picks inside the top 20 instead of 3 picks. if we don't win this I will be absolutely staggered.

Keep these sort of posts up ata and you'll get yourself banned for making too much sense.
