Apologies if it's been said, but wasn't Petr Cech supposed to make Arsenal a 15 point better side? Currently he's made them a 3 point worse side. :D

Yeah, he'll win the next 6 games on his own.

Still chuckling:D

Cech has now lost more home league games under Wenger than he did under Mourinho.

Disappointing to lose on opening day, but it's the first game of the season and I don't think any warning bells should be going off yet. But people love to jump all over a big team when they don't do well, so it's expected.

Spurs should enjoy being on level points while they can.
whats it like down there?

I wouldn't say woeful, they were unlucky with a deflection for the first goal and got done on the counter on the second.

Cedric looked class, assisted the first and almost scored a belter himself.

Add Classie and Bertrand and its a pretty strong lineup.

Southampton, West Ham and Swansea will take plenty of points off the top 4 this year

I'm not talking the goals, I'm talking general play.

Raymond Domench (know I've spelt that wrong) reckons he should be playing for Arsenal or Chelsea.

He was class today though, certainly doesn't look like Remy Cabelli thankfully (sorry NUFC Tiger).

Arsenal have owned us over the past few seasons so this result is extra special.

And it puts the likes of Martin Keown back in their place for saying Fat Sam would come back mid season on a rescue mission after the Europa League result.

So nice to watch a West Ham game where we actually passed the ball on the ground, went forward in numbers on the counter and actually tried to play.

In Cabella's defence DBAH0, Payet is at least playing under a manager with an ounce of football nous - something Cabella hasn't had the chance to do so far for us! :p

Remy definitely needs to put on some size and work on his work rate though - hopefully under Stevie Wonder, he'll find his best form.

By the way, loved big Andy's tweet from the weekend during the Leicester match. ;)

I'd say it's got more to do with the mindset of a middle aged Caucasian in England tbh.

Either way it's incredibly disappointing. Expect him to miss some games.
Very disappointing, would have thought the Thailand incident would be a wake up call.

So why did your youth players get sacked if it's just representative of culture?

Heard the original source. It's not even clear if he's calling out 'Jap' or 'Chap.' The video was two weeks before the Sunderland game, and it seems now was a good time to cash in on the scandal.

I don't think Jap has any real significance in the UK as an insult (what's the line between Aussie or Brit or Pole? Heck, what about Jap vs Chink or Slit-eye?) but it can be viewed as such an insult if that is the case. I saw a good summery from the Japan Society of Leicester; Some people are not fully aware of the meaning or implications of what one has said. As a footballer, there are higher expectations on such people as a role model to younger people, and as such, must take greater care to uphold values.

Vardy has apologised for the incident, which is a step in the right direction, and there will be a club investigation into the issue. Outside of a club imposed fine, I can't see anything significant coming from this. It is definitely disappointing to hear this after Thailand, but I think in this case Jamie would learn that even if you're not being deliberately recorded, you are still subject to controversy if the public manages to get a hold of some video and sell it for a pretty penny.

Also, the Sun (original source) isn't exactly clean when it comes to 'Japs' (some of their articles are very questionable in regards to their own standards.)

Just throwing in my 2 cents, I think overall we had the better of the general play though Southampton showed why they were a top 8 team last season as they nearly pinched the result towards the end with a couple of great chances for Mane. They definitely finished stronger - as you'd expect of a team more advanced in their match fitness (having played competitive matches in Europa prior to this match).

That being said, the goals we conceded were fairly soft IMO -the first was poor marking by Obertan and then a lack of communication between Colo and Mbemba (who'd only had 20 minutes playing together in preseason) and the second due to our inability to dispossess Soton who played with it around our box for a good minute or so.

Cedric was perhaps lucky to stay on the pitch after a number of fouls in the first half whilst on a yellow. We also had 2 questionable handball decisions not given - Southampton had 1 attempt miraculously cleared by Krul at the start of the second half and Mane hit the upright (was offside) and then had 2 big chances late in the game).

Think both teams probably were happy to take a point - was one of those games where both teams could have won it and both could have lost it just as easily. Tricky game for us next up away to Swansea.

Because Vardy wasn't in an orgy on a trip paid for by the owners?

The racist issue is there but the sex rubbish isn't.

The article shows that Japanese people do take it pretty seriously. Not a fan of casual racism but can understand that a footballer may not be across it. It sounds like it was a comment in the heat of the moment. What was more concerning was that Vardy had to be restrained by De Laet after getting agro in a casino.

Footballers need to have thicker skins and can't lose there sh*t in public places in the days of social media.

I'm sure the Leicester hierarchy would have had a word with the playing group about avoiding confrontation post-Thailand. A public apology should be sufficient, maybe some charity work, and the players should be avoiding these situations from now on imo.

Fairly sure the players were sacked for filming it and the racial issues, don't know if their sexual practices are really that important lol.

Well they certainly aren't important to me but it was definitely a very average look. I for one have no interest in ever having an orgy with my mates o_O:p

The stupidity of that incident still astounds me. Why on earth would you film that shit?! Morons.

Taylor Duryea agrees with this

A mate of his took a photo of him doing lines which turned out to be prank.

Asada target tested him for 12months at 6am every morning as punishment haha
