Recommitted Matt Crouch [OOC 2023]

So you would consider a mid-late 2nd for Matt Crouch, with his entire salary covered next year, is 'overs'?

Do you honestly think a club with potential cap issues, still in the window, with a lack of inside mids, would not pay a mid-late 2nd?

I think you'll find a few clubs come knocking, and i'm happy to bookmark it.

He would probably get a buyer at that price.

Not for a 2nd round pick (even a late one)

Crows are desperate to get rid of him, it's not a seller's market.

Considering a bottom four club is actively looking to move him on, then yes I do think a mid 2nd is way overs.

If you guys thought he was remotely any good, there wouldn't even be a conversation.

Who said we're actively looking to move him on?

Read above.

Yup, he would. After all, it's a player who's had a solid career for the most part and is not costing any cap space for a year in this scenario (and then can discard). That's got real potential to go down as one of the worst deals in AFL history on Adelaides side depending on how 2023 shakes out.

After all, it only takes the right club and one long-term injury/form drop.

I'm sure clubs will consider him for an inside role and look at what payers like Brodie has done at Freo, Lyons at Brisbane, Hewitt at Carlton. He's AFL level, but needa the right midfield role.

I can see Geelong being interested with Selwood, Danger close to retiring.

Pies don't have a strong inside mid either do they?

Only clubs I can think of where he could potentially be wanted are Richmond and West Coast. Think the Crows will be stuck with him.

Weren't Freo keen last year? Think they'd be happy with ending up with Will Brodie...
I don't know if freo were keen on Matt Crouch last season.

Last season Matt Crouch negotiation position was very weak as he spent all of 2021 injured. I have seen him play.

With David Mundy retiring, I would seriously look at him.

If Crouch was a free agent this season, it would of been easier to get him.

Crows will keep him for one more season. He will play 10-15 games in 2023 and go to a Victorian club

Tigers are actually a good fit IMO, but they wouldnt trade much of value for him.

If Crows pay his salary or most of it, you might get a pick in the 30's (unlikely, but it would be a discussion worth having), if the Tigers took the contract on, it would a simple token trade.

If it was a salary dump there wouldn't be much trade value, but if Crows are covering the entirety of his wages i think you're being a bit optimistic thinking the pick in question would be negligible.

Adelaide want him out for salary dump as there all in on Rankine. 3rd gets it done for any interested parties.
LOL

Salary dump with the amount of cap space we have, you're joking.

Would you prefer Crouch or Tom Mitchell out of curiosity?

You don't think it's at least a slight factor?...

Not even a little bit. If Richmond believes they are still a realistic shot in September in the next 2-3 years, my question is would you prefer Mitchell or Crouch?

But I was asking a Richmond supporter because they are likely to have a better understanding of their immediate list management requirements and short/long term planning.

Mitchell 30 early next year
Matt Crouch 28 early next year..

Both contracted until end of 2023, but you'd imagine Mitchell is on a fair bit more than Crouch.

We no doubt signed Crouch onto a lower contract after he attracted zero interest as a Free Agent last year after his year out from injury.
