Possibly we need to worry about another factor... the leave home factor...

This just makes a mockery of all the idiots who think it's stupid to take a risk drafting a player like Dangerfield over say Brad Ebert in a national competition.

I would think Rendell must really be pissed if Gunna joins Davi$ in leaving the Crows. I thought I heard Rendell in an interview on 5AA talk about one of the the criteria for his draft selections being about the leadership / temperament and character of the person (as well as their footballing skill)?

I think his midfield recruiting has actually been better than a lot of you are saying. I know he didnt draft Thompson, but what about Dangerfield, Sloane, Martin, Smith and even Aidan Riley looks alright. Add another piece this year and I think with Vince, VB and MacKay our midfield looks ok with Jacobs palming them the ball. I believe we will be ok.

Sure, with a caveat or two: Dangerfield, Sloane, Smith, Wright with Jaensch a success at HBF rather than in the middle

He's more or less on the league average, but there's a distinct bias towards grunt and away from class in that list.

We were very keen on Redden, but assumed know one would take him until at least after pick 28. Unlucky

We still drafted McKernan with pick 28 so it was still a very good selection. Also we were always taking Phil at pick 10. Rendell stated he was pick 2 on our list and only Watts was rated higher by the recruiting team.
