They had an opportunity to discuss the issue with intelligence and maturity. Very disappointing but not that surprising given the panel.

I agree, but this is still very much in football circles. Not sure if that's what you meant, but there won't be any impact in the general population.

Agreed Ruscy - but there are many supporters of ALL clubs that are just as upset by this as we are. They then take that out amongst their circle (outside of footy) and it spreads. But within the footy culture itself - how many non-indigenous people would want to be dealing with EITHER of them now? Their positions have become untenable.

Yep. Don't know what happened, they didn't seem untoward. I just wanted to know that it wasn't something on my end.
Yep. One of johnnypanther's posts was a bit too crude in the language it used, so it got deleted. All responses & references to it have also disappeared. Roughly 5-6 posts in total.
The only issue here was crudity. There's no desire to censor anyone's opinions (as should be clear given the variety of opinions expressed in the last 2000 posts on the subject).

(the sentiment being that Triggy should have stood up for HIS people i.e. Matt and offered him a second chance and pushed for the AFL and Misfud to work through the issues with Matty. Geez what an opportunity missed and something the AFL could have really hung their hat on with trying to be truly welcoming to diversity and bashing down the obstacles to it)

It hasn't been used in a derogatory fashion yet.
Or maybe it just means its an inside joke the rest of us don't understand... actually that probably makes more sense.
