well said Matty White has done some good things but gets limited game time and gets shunted all over the park. Give him a good run in a position that suits him and I think we could see a lot more out of him.

Could not agree any more with this comment. I like him. Alright he doesn't have some of the obvious polish of some of the other young Tiges, but there is one thing from what I have seen of him and a few other supporters have seen with him and that is that he appears to have a bit of grunt in him. He doesn't mind some of the tough stuff, which I'm sure you will agree, is some thing some we've lacked over the years.

No, I like him. I think he definitely needs to be perservered with and he will come through..

I'd love to see Whitey get more game time and another year to develop but he may still be in serious trouble at the end of the year.
What might go against him is the fact that Jackson, King and Howat are likely to be retained/promoted and he may be squeezed out.
It is only his second year and I love his attitude . From what I've seen at Coburg he does very well and if he was a first or second round pick then they would give him another go but I think the 'speculative' tag might go against him . I'm unsure what we should do but I think the last 8 weeks could be make or break for him.

White is not in any sort of trouble. To even say that is a joke in it's self.

Edwards and Connors are much more promising players than White. Doesn't mean White is no good, but these 2 housemates are a good chance to become good players.



I can understand why you would hesitate in accepting an opinion about someone you've never seen. Some players are good at Coburg and never step it up to AFL. Connors seems to be a class or two above the rest and has shown he has the talent to be a very good AFL player, he isn't an athlete he is a footballer's footballer like a Lewis/McLean/Dal Santo and performance wise these types tend to be a lower-risk of failing from my understanding compared to skinny athletes. Attitude could hold him back... but will it? Don't know, but as for having "shown something" this kid has shown plenty.

Let's hope he doesn't get distracted because unless he derails I would be more confident with Connors becoming a good player than most other youngsters in the past couple of years. I'd back him heavily as long as we pull him into line

I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a Coughlan next year. No pun intended lol

isn't pathetic or anything, tries hard and all, but hasn't got much about him that makes me think he will be an important cog in a finals side anytime soon.

rate him behind king & howat - he along with howat though i wonder what their scope of improvement is.

Needs a spell at the burgers. Has had 5 games in a row without showing much albeit with little game time. Neeeds to drop back if only to play 100 minutes two weeks in a row get in the best and given another crack last 4 games of the season.

Showed a lot of heart during the finals series and while his kicking isn't the best I have noticed that it doesn't actually decrease much under pressure. He comes from a passionate Richmond family and I am happy with how he has performed in the 2nd half of the year.

Needs to work on footskills while running at full pace because his flair is exactly what Terry wants.

There was a time when we would wait until a player had three full years of footy under the belt before rushing to judge him. White was overlooked in the national draft and taken in the pre-season... I would say that he has pretty much lived up to expectations in his 2 years so far. He isn't a world beater but could turn into a solid performer if he improves his awareness and kicking.

It sounds like to me you are looking for quick fixes that you could do in the 80's when the rich would get better. Not these days it is a lottery a good junior player dosnt mean you will be good senior player. A.Banik was going to be the next Tim Watson.Evrey club wanted him Tigers had no1 pick and took him. Was That a bad decision on Richmonds part no.
