Brendan Fevola-: Games- 204, Goals- 623(3.1per game). Average per game-: Marks 5.0, Disposals- 10.8, Tackles- 1.4.

Tough one. Both genuine stars but a notch below the absolute best forwards of their era. Jonathan Brown, Tony Modra & Matthew Lloyd are others occupying a similar space for mine.

I voted Richardson because he generally had less support from his teammates (Richmond was a basketcase for most of his career) and would be in the conversation for the greatest contested marking player of all time. Fev though superb in his prime didn't quite sustain it for long enough and left football with too much unfulfilled potential on the table.

I could say the same thing about Fevola having his head straight from the beginning.

The trouble with Fev, was that he had to play with Chris Judd....Not enough room in the one side for 2 egos.

Richardson comfortably.
Was much more than a stay-at-home forward. Superior pack mark and all round better athlete.

People make a big deal of Richardson's goals kicking but he kicked virtually identical goal kicking percentage to what Fevola did.

Either one would've complimented Mooney during or flag era. Salary restrictions however are a lot harsher than the 80's

Richo. Didn't realise the stats had quite that much of a gap in them.

Richo easily, only averaged 0.3 less goals per games, but offered so much more apart from goals then Fevola.

Richo was more versatile, did it for longer and was a better person to have around a club then Fevola.

Poor old Richo was a bit like Crawford during the same era....The only star player & attraction stuck in a bog average side.
