Just by viewing social media, Collingwood media and from what I've heard he seems like a bit of a social misfit, hence the want to go home back to familiar surroundings.

This isn't new news, everyone knew pre-draft this was his personality and he was all 'footy' in high school, and not one big on the social side of things.

You can't overlook this fact, if you feel like you don't belong in a group it makes life pretty difficult. If he did leave I wouldn't be too disappointed due to this info.

Don't be so negative. One moment we appeal to his emotions like club loyalty but friendships are apparently a no-no?Look on the bright side.
Would be fun if we can land Aish and Treloar and keep Scharenberg on top of that. And for the future: If they are best mates , what better chance to keep the team together and take unders to stay at Collingwood.

im not negative.. when i left school at started uni.. i established friendships in the first week.. what matthew has been at the club for 2 yrs and what? doesnt get along with 40 other players and 100s of staff members.. what a load of crap.

Where did all this waiting for Aish crap come from?
People just making things up again.
Although I did see a Lions peanut post that somewhere on the main board which would've been sour grapes 'cos Aish wants out.

Shazza Jnr looks quite good, worth a early round draft pick, stocky and imagine still growing ay 184cm at age 16?? Reminds me of a Terry Wallace type?
What? You want us to draft his younger brother as well knowing that he is likely to feel homesick even before he gets drafted interstate. Why don't we just go into the business of nursing talented interstate young footballers through injury, poor form and homesickness, then when they are ready for senior footy, send them back home to a club where they'll feel warm and fuzzy. Not one of the South Australians we have drafted in the last few years has lived up their hype. Local lads only in the future please.

Grundy is going alright.

Scharenberg would be mad to sign now. He is in the senior side and has an opportunity to raise his contract. If he chooses to leave then so be it. I back the club to get a good deal.

So you are saying that we not only drafted a mummy's boy already pining for the warmth of her bosom, but a guy who is also a social misfit! What on earth did Hine and his cohorts have in mind when they made their 2013 selections?! To think that we could have drafted McCarthy!

It wouldn't be the sole reason. SA clubs want a home boy too for the negating the lure to other states. Probably negotiations went something like this.

S: I am leaving. Crows made me an offer I can't refuse.
P: You sure. (Shows lucrative contract).
S: Yes. Not only money. Want to be around close friends. People here are nice but home is calling.
P: Too bad. We were thinking of getting Aish. You two would get along.
S: Aish coming here? That would be great. Show me his sig or GTFO.
P: well nothing is certain. Negotiations are underway but as you know that can take time.
S: okay. Here is the deal. Get Aish and I stay. You are a big club. Make it happen.

It struck me when Moore said that he has had the locker next to Broomhead for 10 months and basically said he Broomhead hasn't spoken to him at all yet.

a great eg of a 20 yr old with a lack of maturity right there in my opinion.yes i can understand him wanting to go home.. but i cant understand this mateship rubbish. in the world of sport at the elite level.. no one signs a contract bc their best mate signed one as well. at the elite level this is pathetic and childish. if collingwood are going to talk to shaz perhaps use the man united's of this world with players playing from every corner of the empire millions of miles away from their homes. what are they doing to make em feel more comfortable.

We been linked to Aish since last Trade Period

It must be a South Australian thing.

Maybe he reckons he can play better still if he knows more than 30 mins in advance that he's playing.

Grundy is going alright.
But not yet as well as might have been hoped given he was touted as a top 5 pick. Unlike others because of size and role he still has time on his side. And I don't need a man who loves a drink projecting his desires on to me. I am more than capable and ready to decide that for myself, as the need arises. I can feel it arising now.

His first half of the season absolutely lived up to that hype IMO, and there's every chance he'd be continuing that form (nor is it guaranteed of course) if Witts wasn't brought in to take a lot of his game time as #1 ruck.

Not sure how you dreamed up that scenario, but I have serious doubts that Aish has anything to do with Bergs decision to re-sign.

I'm not sure what more you could expect from a highly rated ruckman. Most opposition supporters would kill to have a 3rd year ruckman who has developed as well as Grundy has in such a short career so far.

He'll come good. I am just not so sure about the others. Scharenberg will probably be an OK player too, just not for us. It's annoying when you pour money and resources into these people and they piss off on you. I imagine the Swans felt that way about A Rocca and the Bears about Buckley.

Puzled a few rumours together plus a bit of poetic license[emoji5] Surely not do you expect me to put a disclaimer in for that.
