Hey saintas, was just wondering what u guys might have thought about maxies onfield behavior with abusing team mates?

Personally i think its a disgrace and as an opponent in footy loved nothing more to see dissent in the opposition ranks.

Cheers

I think he was showing heart - he has every right to be disgusted, and they have every reason to be ashamed of themselves.

No problems from my point of view.

I can't blame him. I can count on one hand the amount of guys who bleed for the jumper, and coindcedentally they happen to be the same few guys who are our best every week. Max is 31 and, apart from Sammy Fisher, is having to carry the backline and to a lesser extent the team, can you blame him for losing his cool every nown an then when someone refuses to put in the effort to drop back on a man when he tries so hard all game every game?

About time someone told them the truth. I couldn't care less if it's a teammate doing the telling.

It's probably not a great look but Maxy has been holding our backline together for years. At least Maxy is showing some passion unlike some others in that team so can't really blame him.

If you want to see classic Maxy, get a dvd of the 2005 prelim final. He single handedly held out the Swans in the last 10 minutes of the third quarter. Unfortunatley, as we all know, they kept coming and coming until the flood gates opened in that last quarter.............................. :(

Good on him. The team is playing well below par. You can't exactly blame the coach for all of those soft players out there. Passengers? I doubt the coach instructs them not to go hard at the footy.

Whats the use if they lift against Melbourne and then play crap against Sydney, WB.

Max is easilt in the top 3 most valuable players in our team. He has his colors lowerd on suday, but rarely gets beaten like that.

You excuse the best players for a show of on field passion, it is good for the club.

You even excuse players for off field problems and bad body language on it, if they are good enough, hey Fevola?

If we decide to watch the Fevola whingefest, we'll get to see it almost every week.

If you want to question one of our players it's probably best not to choose one of the few that puts his heart and soul into every game and is still one of our best performers into his 12th season of league footy.

Well, time to go out on a limb (not the first time, and won't be the last).

I hated seeing the Goose spray and was unimpressed by the gobbing of Leigh Fisher.

So if any of you ____ up at work, you feel much better when someone screams at you? Oh yeah, that's much better than some constructive comments after the day is done.

Max is supposed to be a freakin leader of the club, and needs to pull his head in. He can yell all he likes in the locker room - no need to show the world his disgust at teammates. BJ can stop rolling his eyes too - doesn't anyone piece it together? (the more they act like this, the worse the team functions).

If someone did that in my cricket team, they would not be playing the following week.

So is tanking.

On Max, he has the biggest heart getting round, and has boiled over twice, big deal. Both for good reasoning anyways. With his dedication, he has the right to give players a kick up the pants every so often.

Lol, hard to imagine anyone gettin that fired up in a soft slow boring sport... Fair difference in the emotion levels between cricket and footy pal

Clearly you don't (or can't) play the sport - there is lip and competitive tension all day long. If you can't control your white line fever towards teammates (regardless of the sport) then maybe you need to look at where you're at in life.

Why? I could list a dozen examples where a spray from a teammate has led to improved performance from the person the spray was directed at.

What's to say Max hasn't had already had chat to Goose and Fish behind closed doors. If the same mistakes keep happening, you can't do the same thing and expect a different result. Doesn't matter if you're playing footy or cricket or you're in the boardroom.

Don't know whether Justin Peckett agrees after having his drink slapped out of his hand.

Cain Ackland reacted pretty well when Blakey tried to "have a chat".

You would see that the team fabric is breaking down - tackling down and not much in terms of blocks & shepherds.

So the sprays from Max and the eye-rolling from BJ are NOT working. As you say, don't keep doing the same thing if it doesn't work.

Well it's difficult to gauge with Goose, but if Leigh Fisher improves on this area next week, then it has worked.

Clearly you do not rise to a personal challenge on the footy field then.

When you are at work does your boss come over at 3pm and scream and shout and ask you to pull out all stops so that you can have an exceptionally productive last two hours? Does he call your company's history into question and ask you to do it for the privelage of wearing the company logo on your tie? Do you get interviewed by media upon leaving the car park and get a write up of your performance in the sunday papers? Do the know it all and jump on them when you are down journalists have a large affect on when you are sacked?

If so then perhaps you know best about constructive critisism for AFL players.

Control attitude to team mates?! Every heard of Shane Warne, he demanded excellence from team mates as well and did alright. Perhaos white line fever to team mates should be in some sort of control, but showing dissapointment should be a responsibility taken by two parties; the one that gave the horrible performance, and the one who articulates that.

I think that Maxis an emotional guy.....ad that football field is not a normal workplace.

Still you would not want Max's sprays to become a regular occurance.

He's in his 12th year....I hardly think they are regular.

Would you say it was any different if Harves was doing it?
