And one in his last game. In fact last kick iirc?
At AO and right in front of me. Eddie on his knees handpass to Truck 30 out on an angle and Truck slotted it. The big man had one final possession in the backline but can't remember if it was a kick or handball.

Rutten kicked 3 goals with his first 3 kicks in AFL, one goal with his last, and just 5 more from the 1,449 kicks in between.

My kids ordered me a Crows jumper for Fathers Day when Truck played his last game. I went for the "25" on the back of it.

It was me that added the edit to the Wiki page for goals with first kick to add the note of the goal in the last. This page has since been tabulated and that note deleted.

I think he gets the job on Greene and we're just going to hope our team defense is strong enough to cover it. We did give Max the job to take out Ryan two weeks ago, so it's clear we have a lot of faith in him in this kind of role.

Parnell v Daniels makes sense as a matchup. Doedee/Dawson are better suited to being our main interceptors with Worrell being out, giving Doedee the job of trying to run off Riccardi. Murray/Butts would have Hogan/Himmelberg.
Not sure Daniels is fit ?

Makes you wonder why he never played forward again.

Put simply, we needed him more in defence at that time. He was an exceptional defender.

Him moving to full back also relieved Bassett from the full back duties which helped spark his career revitalisation.

Ben Hart was injured for most of 2004 and Nigel Smart was just finishing up, so it essentially became Bassett and Bock replacing those two roles, with Rutten taking over Bassett's former FB role.

We are all going to love this lad. Doesn’t get much ball atm but has class in spades and is a good athlete too

Very rarely gets flustered with ball in hand which is a great attribute to have when things get hairy in defence.

Was very impressed with what he did against Liam Ryan the other week.

Seems to be a no fuss, get the job done kind of player. If he can be a fraction of the player Ben Hart was we have done well.

Have to admit, I was not expecting this based purely off him needing to build some size (a lot of size even).

Then saw him play a bit and re-shuffled my expectation to a "well he's much closer then I gave him credit for" frame of mind.

Now all I can say is well played young man. Round 1 debut is impressive

Very similar traits from what I have seen too.

Also, light frame, but stronger than he appears, but most importantly footy smarts.

Looks like another long term player for us.

Sydney bidding on him at 17 seems like a vote of confidence unless there was a strategic angle I haven't considered.
Sydney are not going to use a 1st rounder on someone they don't rate...
