I don't care if Maxy gets 3 weeks if everyone gets 3 weeks for that type of incident. Just give some consitency.:thumbsd:

Thats the problem with the current system, consistency doesnt exist.

If a player with no prior record does exactly what Maxwell does, the most he will get is 2 weeks.

Maxwell's previous record, which I cant actually even remember the report from, was the reason he got such a severe penalty.

They need to review the prior points system to the point where it only comes into play after 2-3 offenses, or if the offense is similar to the most recent offense.

Put simply though, in this case, Collingwood has no choice but to accept the 3 week (2 week H + A, atm) and move on.

Negligent refers to the intent, not to the result. Please try again.

Wrong mate - negligent refers to what you end up doing, not what you intended... otherwise it would be 'deliberate'... lol thats like the 'definition' of negligent you've just stuffed up

Here is a high res pic showing how it was negligent coz he didnt get his contact areas low enough... from that point on the contact only continues upward as Maxwell is lifting upwards off his back foot - hit him square on the chin below ear level

Look at corrie he bumps McGinnity from behind and right into maxwells shoulder.

maxy lifts his entire body up during contact which is what Lifts mcGinnity, any contact to teh head was due the the contact given my corrie pushing him forward,

The photo also dont support you argument as it shows maxwell leant into the bump and then lifts up after contact which all arms/elbows tucked in. he exevuted the bump perfectly.

Aort from McGinnity's lack of awareness and incidental contact from corrie maxwell would be fine

Very dubious about Brazen's 'shoulder line's'. I would suggest that the point of Maxwell's shoulder is the same as the point of McGinnity's. Maxwells body isn't angled up to his left either as is clear when looking at the base of his jumper.

Yeah, nah. Dictionary - get one!

Failing that, you could just consider that the category into which "negligent" fits also contains the options of "intentional" and "reckless" - they're all measures of intent.

Laughable - your line points at his neck, the left shoulder is not in picture since the photo was taken from the reverse angle.

Are you serious? You realise your waist and back can 'bend' above the hips? THe lower jumper line means notheing . his left shoulder is clearly higher - in fact i knew you guys would whinge about it and deliverately went conservative placing the line level with his jumper number - not top choulder level... save teh image and see it even larger and its pretty clear to see.

And as for the previous poster about the bump from behind - grasping at straws much? he never touched him or went within a foot - he's bracing in panic at Maxwell as well to avoid him

Again - open the full size - his left shoulder is even higher than his neck as he is bent over to his right bumping upwards - ive actually drawn the line below the black of his jumper behind - open the full size pic and look properly

Brazen you seem to have photo shop skills but get off our board before you embarrass yourself

Glad you've conceded on the other point.

As for the photo, I'm not even going to get into it. I have no idea whether or not your line happens to point at his left shoulder as well as his neck - it might. But the photo shows no such thing, the angle simply doesn't allow it. Your case isn't helped by Maxwell's left hip actually being lower than his right.

Again, I'm not arguing one way or the other, but you need a better angle if you want to "prove" anything.

I not only opened it, but i zoomed in and am convinced that if that was evidence in a court of law then the case would be thrown out. You make far too many unseeable assumptions on the height of his left shoulder.

Here ya go (again you need to un-resize it)... McGinnity's shoulder is about halfway up Maxwell's number 5... Maxwell's hits him fair on the chin (incidently which is where his fracture is!)

lol you might be helped except fo the fact his JAW IS BROKEN... how can you even argue there is no contact there?

Do you have a Side-on because that does nothing for me

I can't, and I'm not. But contact may have occurred a couple of ways, not all of them Maxwell's fault.

Your new screenshot is a little better, but you're still about 20 degrees off having any sort of evidence. Using that shot, I could just as easily argue that Maxwell connected with his arm, causing McGinnity's head to whip forward and hit his shoulder. I would hope the MRP had more conclusive vision.

It just goes to show the tribunal must have a vendeda against Collingwood, when a hip is worth 3 and two punches and a kick in the ass is worth 4. What a F---ING JOKE!!!!!!!

Kick in the nuts you mean! I believe Cloke was quoted as saying it "missed both his legs"

Geez do you want the frame by frame - from that point on his head snaps BACKWARDS

ANyways - I'll leave you to it... I was actually trying to help with some better qaulity images for those that were judging it off youtube... if you cant put 2 and 2 together based upon those images and the fact that his JAW IS BROKEN at the chin area... then i have obviously failed in trying to help out some of you who might not have the high res footage on their PC... as I said before ... no agenda here - when I saw it live I loved the bump and thought it was awesome... but watching it back in FullHD recorded I saw the technical error in the height of the bump and thought Id share the images with you FYI... best of luck and a good win... laters

What a load of %$@#!!!

Far out I'm starting to hate the AFL more and more.

I hope we appeal!!!

The only problem with that is he'll end up with 4. We don't have a good record with challenges or the tribunal for that matter and we want Nick back a early as we can. I would like it challenged but i think it would blow up in our face. The tribunal is obviously out to make a point, what that is i don't know.

Bollocks! I'd prefer him to be rubbed out for 8 weeks than to bend over and take this cr@p!! You won't see a fairer bump anywhere

This is Steve McKee all over again. The powers that be are seeking to outlaw the only aspect of the game that Maxwell is any good at. Outrageous.

Captain pendles may arrive earlier than we thought.

Hey guys,

Even coming from a Swannies fan, that suspension is a JOKE!! It was a brilliant hip and shoulder. Next they'll make AFL a non contact sport...unbelieveable!!

What do you mean if???

He ran straight at a player, looking straight at the player. He hit him and broke the KIDS jaw( accidental or not).

Did he have to do it??? NO.

He has done it before and will do it again.

Hopefully next time, it's J. Brown he goes after. It might give him some credibility. He keeps going after young, small players!

When I say "prove" I mean prove it with evidence, not supposition and bias.
We also need a bio-mechanics expert and a bone density scan on McGinnity's suspect jaw. Maybe he is calcium deficient.
