News McBean and Marcon chopped

McBean was mismanaged? At some stage the buck stops with him. If you can't put on weight when you're a full time footballer it's not because you're getting bad advice.
Not that this has bearing, I was talking to a basketballer the other day, who told me that contrary to the belief you stop growing at 21, he didn't grow into his body until about 24-25. Amazingly after some problems he's playing his best basketball at 33. Not saying we keep McBean tiul he's 33 or he's good even, but just realise that for certain people getting the body right is a battle. Maybe McBean just hasn't done his growing yet. Mnd you none of them to gain size at Tigerland except Whale Roberts and that wasn't the weights!

Maybe victims of circumstance. We're supposedly getting rid of a heap of coaches, and one of the guy that needs the most development (Bean) gets the chop too. I thought a bit stiff.

McBeans biggest problem in his position is his lack of aerial presence and contested marking. Can't be that height and rely only on your cleanliness below your knees. You need to be able to take advantage of your height difference in a contested situation. McBean fails at that, and was always going to be hard for him to make it AFL level without it.

Surely based on these delistings
AMoore Conca and Batchelor go ?? Or are they a part of DH blue print of success which will partner
Houli Hampson Grigg Hunt Townsend Astbury and Lambert.
Never thought I would lower myself and introduce this word back into my vocabulary
RABBLE

If an announcement came out and said "Richmond have delisted 10 players today: A. Moore, Conca, Batchelor, Houli, Hampson, Grigg, Hunt, Townsend, Astbury, and Lambert", what would your honest reaction be?

Mine would be horror, because it means we'd be headed for about 15 or 16 list changes in one season, and seeing as we have nowhere near the amount of picks in the draft for that, we'd be taking new players to fill the squad at Picks 120 and Picks 150. :drunk:

At BEST we're going to get equally poor players as the ones we lost, but that is an absolute best case scenario with very low chance of happening. At worst our list falls off the cliff if we do that, and we're back to 2010 and giving a Ben Nason-type 14 games for the year while losing 13 in a row.

This isn't fantasy football TI!

Also, as an aside, Adam Marcon was drafted as a rookie pick, and he wasn't up to scratch. The reason the rookie list exists is to only commit ourselves to 1 year contracts rather than the minimum 2 that comes with the ND. We gave him a chance, and he didn't measure up. Why all the complaining?

McBean is a disappointing case, and there's an argument to having given him 1 more year, however the bloke just hasn't done enough when given the chance. He has potential, but he couldn't put it together at senior level when he was given those limited chances, and whilst it is unfair to an extent, he would probably have just become the next maligned player at the club anyway.

You don't have to delist all of those as some were tradeable
No it's not fantasy footy , but some of the blokes that have come on our list under DH suggests that it could be. Starting with the bargain buy Relton Roberts.

I know people are shitting on Bean but the guy did win leading VFL goalkicker, he wasnt even awful when we played him, just a little lost.

I remember Carlton had a kid called Brett Backwell. Won the JJ Liston trophy one year playing in the ressies. Made the papers.

He made the papers the next day too - when he was cut by Carlton.

Reserves form doesn't mean a lot.
