Has anybody heard how close McCleod is to re-signing with the crows? I've heard rumours that the Power want him-I really think (and hope) that he'll stay with the Crows, but apparently he was closing to signing two weeks ago, and still there is no word!

Thanks Nap :) I had no idea that topic had already been discussed b4 my discovery of this site. Still, its July now, I was hoping McCleod's signature would have already dried on that contract with the Crows...

Welcome SAbella!!!!!!:)

I would be very surprised if McLeod is not a Crow next year. He was on 5AA the last (???) week and he said that everything is going along sweet and it shouldn't be long before he commits. I got the feeling there might be some hurdles as far as monetary terms are concerned. He was very smart the way he answered the question and gave nothing away.

I am confident he will sign up by the end of the year;)

Thanks stiffy :)
I heard those comments too, and the fact that he did not commit 100% scared me a little, I do agree with you though that he'll be back in the crows #23 guernsey next year and for a few years to come after that, I just wish an announcement would hurry up and come making it all official, this delay is making me to start to wonder a lil...

You are welcome:)

Personally, I think its just a matter of settleing down on a figure. We might have to loose one of our 2nd tier players at the end of the year to accomodate McLeod's new contract but I am very confident that Reidy and Co. will not throw the bank at him just for the sake of keeping him. They know what is the maximum they are willing to spend on McLeod and will not go over that. As I said I am confident McLeod will stay but whats the worst that can happen?????? If for some reason he decides to go (which is unlikely IMHO) then I am sure we will get a fair compensation for him. If anyone is untouchable at AFC its McLeod I reckon.;)

Im surprised at the amount of people that get so worked up over these trade "rumours" when its painfully obvious taht they will never happen in a million years.

I mean really, as if Mcleod or Riccuito are going to leave the Crows. It really gets me frustrated when people get worked up and start fretting about a rumour that was probably started from some moron ringing up 5AA with absolutely no relevance or source behind them at all.

Why worry? Any club in the league could offer Mcleod $2 million a year and im sure he wouldnt take it. These players are career players, they wont be leaving. Its the same as Tredrea, im sure if someone thru millions of dollars at him he wouldnt leave either.

I just find it really odd that people worry so much about something thats never gonna happen and isnt even a slim chance of happening.
