Just wanting to know about the MCG parking, never really parked there before (only from the Jolimont side but would prefer the Punt Rd side) as I mainly catch the train in, but just wanting to know if you can enter the MCG carpark from Punt rd???

Might be pretty dead set obvious but I always like to make sure haha

Thanks :D

I don't think directly from Punt Rd, I think the little road at the front of the Tiggers social Club is one way=out. To get in have to go up toward Jollimont. Anyone know if that little track past Tigger land is open for in traffic. :D

You can enter via puntroad as theres an enterance right next to puntroad oval. However after the game if you come out there i think its right turn only :thumbsd:

Thats easily avoided when the cops arent there directing traffic though. Even if they are you can go a little way up the road and do a U-Turn if you're quick enough.

This map might help you
Yarra Park [MCG] map

The Punt Road gate is opposite Rowena Parade.

Correct.

What I used to do when I drove there was come in through Rowena Parade straight into the G. This was you avoided all the traffic. Might be worth a look in your Melways!

Im not sure if the cops discourage this now though... anyone?

MCG parking is rubbish.

Took an hour to get out on Sunday.

So glad we play at TD. Parking is sooooo much better :thumbsu:

Have to drive in tonight if I want to see the opening bounce. As always I will be hoping to get Melbourne Park parking, but won't happen, FFS. Gotta wake up at 5am for work, and parking in Yarra Park, give yourself 30min-45 min at times (last time, v Port, i got out in 5 sec due to my large brain)...but Melbourne park...straight out onto Batman and on the Monash in 5 seconds.

For some reason the last time I went to the MCG we were out of the MCG carpark in under 5 minutes and that was with a huge crowd there that day, the carpark was full but it moved very quickly

If you leave right on the siren and walk QUICKLY to your car, you can get out within 10 minutes.

Being a richmond supporter I haven't had to wait around for the song :D

hmm how is Brunton Ave like for trying to get in and out? I'm all about planning before lol, and I'm coming from the Eastern FWY

You dont get to Brunton Ave if coming from the Eastern Fwy but Idont think there is any entrance for public parking along there anyway

Costs me $6 at the G and $20 at TD. I just use the underground car park at the ground. Where do you park for $7?

haha, you're one of the suckers that uses the underground one :D

there's way cheaper places near the jail across the railway.

I'm just going to park at one of the parking places along Swan St, get there early enough and avoid the traffic buildup.

Punt rd can clog up like a bitch trying to get into the G, especially the south bound lanes, people trying to turn right into the G make that road a mess.

Can you be a little more specific. Is that on Spencer Street or closer to the Dome? Would love to know for future reference.
