McLeod on Williams??

Good Afternoon Crows fans...

Just wondering what your thoughts were regarding McLeod playing on Williams this weekend. Will it happen?
I noticed McLeod playing on the Lovetts and Davey types, so im guessing Craig will put him on Willo. What a match up that will be!

Unlikely. Would say Ben Hart would get him as he is more of a medium size than a small, but having said that you never know.

I would be surprised if that happens.

Williams has VERY good hand for his height and that might trouble McLeod who's not super duper in the air.

Hart is much better suited. Willo will beat him for pace but Ben has a defender's instict that should compromise.

Should be an interesting matchup nonetheless.

From the little of Williams I have seen, he seems to be a small leading forward, rather than a small crumbing forward. Don't think Macca has the defensive skills at spoiling and body on body marking to go against a player like that.

If Johncock were fit he'd most likely get the job but otherwise agree that Hart would probably be the man. Would probably put Edwards on him before McLeod.

I would say that Bassett would line up on him this week.

Which will leave Benny for his quarterback role.

No way he will be playing from the FB possie.
Other coaches have tried to drag him back to in front of the opposition goals and Craig has moved him back to HBF.
Only if Williams moves out to the HF line will he line up on him.
Having said that, he played a bit in the middle after half time against Freo so maybe having a little here and a little there.

Williams will kill him on the lead, I've noticed Macca has lost his pace this season. He has been caught from behind more times this season than his entire career prior to 2005. He's still faster than anyone in our current backline, but I'm not sure of his defensive capablities especially if he is isolated with Williams.

Hart should get the job.

Yeah, either Harty or the Hound would be more likely matchups.
