McPhee has to go

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

I feel like the people who start these threads are the same morons who start booing as soon as we kick backwards or switch the footy (happened so often on Sunday and lo and behold every time we switched we managed a forward entry from it) or the "KICK IIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTT" brigade.
You're wrong, I don't boo my team and especially not for the reason that you've manifested in your head. I just said the guy needs to go back to the WAFL to find touch so we can play SNOS, one of the most promising KPP players in the competition.

Hate to say it but we have a huge amount of moronic supporters.

Yeah, morons that can't actually elaborate on why they are insulting people..

Ok I wasn't taking this thread seriously....until now.

Ross, make it happen!!! stat!

FarmersWife, have you taken a knock to the head and woken up in 2010?

McPhee has been one of our more reliable and consistent players this year, that's why people are criticising this thread.

When Brades-I'll be contrary for the sake of being controversial-maen is the only one agreeing you know you're on the wrong track.

No one on here that has called me an idiot has actually given a case for why SNOS shouldn't be in McPhee's spot. They just think I'm an animal for suggesting one of our most unreliable players should go back to the WAFL to find touch.

Ok I'll say my piece.

They are two completely different kinds of players with two different roles. SCOS probably has a better footy brain and better speed.

McPhee can monster opposition players in a way SCOS never could. Would you REALLY want to be tackled by a cranky McPhee? Me? I'd run away like crazy if I saw McPhee coming. Scos I could cope with as he doesn't have that nasty gene.

When you need speed and dexterity, pick SCOS. When you need brute force and monstering, it's McPhee.

You really need both players in the same side but who do you leave out? If you want a better like for like swap, look at Dawson.

I don't see why McPhee should be looked at when Dawson has just as many brain farts in a game yet adds nothing in the physicality stakes.

Dawson and Ibbotson should both be on the chopping block before McPhee.

I think the upshot of the responses is that McPhee has been very solid in the most miserly defence in the league. They are performing well as a unit.
Personally I see Duffield as the weak link because he is a very ordinary defender. With the ball he is good.

When we have Dawson who's a good defender, yet ordinary with the ball, I think this balances out ;) So long as we have enough good defenders shutting out the dangerous forwards, Duffield has a place in our side.

Mcphee is a better kick, faster, shutdown a very good small forward in Milne, and has performed well this season. Has the odd brainfade, but so does every AFL player.

No f***ing way is Silvagni one of the most promising KPP players in the competition, I feel like an idiot just by typing that.

You really are clueless aren't you? Proof you haven't watched a single game this season.

FWIW he's still leading 1%ers at the club by more than double the next best player (McPharlin).

I actually thought McPhee has been terrible the last couple of weeks. Sure his DE stat reads good, but then so does Dane Swans and we know he is an ordinary kick. He fumbles and drops too many marks. Still 2000000 times better than Dawson.

De Boer was the real disappointment! One kick and one handball to half time on Sunday, and one tackle for the game. But his few possessions must have been brilliant as everyone continues to talk him up. Fact is though, he's a 40% chance when kicking at goal and well below both Dawson and McPhee in DE.

So you, or somebody else closely resembling a moron, keeps saying.

He might be leading the 1%ers, but 99% of his game is lacking.

McPhee has been vastly improved this season and has limited his "bloody stupidity moments" to maybe 1-3 a game.

He provides hardness and grunt which is better than the likes of Duffield and Ibbotson and is more physically imposing than Dawson.

If you want Silvangi in (believe me I certainly do) I'd be looking to remover Dawson but oddly enough he played one of his better games on the weekend. That said though, Port are more VFL standard so that could explain it.

For the record McPhee went at 94% DE against Port.

And this is precisely the reason he has to go. He's only got 6% improvement left. We are playing like shit and McPhee only has 6% improvement, that's simply not going to get the job done.

Bring in someone who has huge improvement to give.

I'm not a huge De Boer fan, but he went in bloody hard on Sunday. Ended up with 10 stitches, and didn't shirk the issue when he went back on. He did his role.

He usually always goes in bloody hard - that's what we all like about him. He was very quiet on the weekend though. I agree he plays his role, as does Dawson and McPhee. I just don't think he has improved as much this year as everyone says. I thought he was excellent (and better) last year.

I will say however that if those claiming I have brain cancer or something along that line could please actually explain why they believe this, they themselves might actually seem a little more intelligent. A little input into the topic would be appreciated if you feel the need to throw insults around.

I agree wholeheartedly, McPhee out, McManus in.

BTW, I have had the bum cancer and may i just say, the collateral damage I endured would go a long way to explain the irrational thought process you are experiencing.

* Disclaimer: I in no way thought or form, suggest i posses more intelligence than you.
Perish the thought

To be fair, the supporters just know what usually comes next whenever we kick backwards for the switch or to maintain possession and ice the clock. Usually somebody ****s up and the opposition gobbles up the turnover for an easy goal.

Seen it time and time again and will therefore happily boo the backwards kick. If I were coach, kicking backwards would be punishable by death.

Reg, I love you more than my first wife, and if you change I will personally hunt you down and bash you AGAIN, without a second thought !!

Stay true Reg :thumbsu:

Ibbotson I'm with you on. Dawson has improved the last couple of games and can imagine it was tough for him with a new team to get to know the way other players played, i.e. speed of players leading towards him. Don't think we have to go a like for like player though, but McPhee has been very deep in defence so Silvagni wouldn't be out of place.
