Did anyone watch the game on TV last night and hear LLoyd talking about the punch up between McVeigh and Melksham?

Apparently it was one of Melkshams first training sessions when he had an altercation with spike resulting in spike needing a few stiches. As we know Melksham has had a boxing background and if true good on him for not backing down to anyone even in one of his first training sessions. This kid has got fire in the belly and will be a star.

Didn't hear this as what at the game (if it was on TV), but I would hope Melksham doesn't get into the habit of flying his fists around at training, or anywhere for that matter. If infact McVeigh wanted to start the fight, good on him for standing up for himself. Spike would have learnt quick smart to leave Melk alone.

Wouldn't surprise me.

I reckon Melksham is one of our more underrated draftees from the last couple of seasons. Already looks about 10x bigger (mind you, there wasn't much of him to begin with) in the upper body this year compared with 12 months ago. Genuinely exciting.

Good on him.

He doesn't strike me as one to just go widely swinging for no reason so I'm sure Spike did something. Least it shows he isn't going to back down against senior players or stars of the competition.

It's funny though, in every media interview he's done he's come across as the most quiet and unassuming guy you could ever met. Would never expect to see him squaring off with Goddard.

When I heard this my respect for this young, hard working talented midfielder grew massively.

I can see the likes of Melksham, Zaharakis, Heppell, Jetta, Hocking, Howlett & Watson making a great midfield with massive skill, speed, fire & brimstone.

Either way he's a toughy. The odd stoush here and there will help him develop and become more calm and self-assured. It was good to see Goddard so frustrated by a young upstart, better to the more slightly built Melksham with the balls to to take him to task.
