Surely Medders must play Wafl this week...bugger the bye, he must play wafl, it's where he'll be for Rnd 14 anyway.

Whats the Afl policy re the bye, can we play players from the Roos game in the wafl this week? If we can...Medders, Murphy, Johnson, Peake, Grover, Schofield, should all get a run.

Personally the only players which deserve a break are:

Pav
Cooky
Wiz
Parker
Bell

the rest i would play in the WAFL. There is probably a couple i have missed there but certainly medders should play in the WAFL this week. Along with the players coming back from injury, which are about 5-6

I think you will find their contract/agreement gives them a manditory break. I wouldn't expect to see any of them front their WAFL teams this week.

Well Buckley played in the VFL last weekend, which was Collingwood's bye, and presumably they plan on playing him in the AFL this weekend, so there must be some flexibility in the system at least. I would guess that AFL-listed players are allowed to play in the state leagues as long as they have played less than half the AFL games so far, or something like that. I'll expect to be corrected though.

Paul Medhurst...such a talented youngster... Has the talent to be one of the best...

rotting away at the frockers

When he moves to another club shortly, watch him turn into the next mcphee...orsinclair...or clement...or croad..the list goes on

absolute gun if used correctly

Pav to the WAFL? Surely thats a troll.

I wouldn't send Medhurst to the WAFL. I'd give him a kick to the head.

or Koops....or Wills....or Bradley.....or Hunter.....or Abraham.....or Dhurrkay Geez, with a skull as thick and empty as yours, no wonder you fit in with Deb and her toothless ilk!

if you know anythig about footy... about watching for player potential etc. (something that i doubt the recruiters at freo do), you would see immediately paul medhurst is extremely talented, and is blessed with the perfect body for a midfielder. Extremely powerful for his size.

Now, if you cannot see that, then get ur eyes checked.

If you can see that, then tell me why is this guy struggling so much? Something is obviously wrong with your coaching staff/player management if players like Medhurst are simply not performing.

You have alot of talented youngsters that can be excellent but simply look disinterested.

Medhurst and Polak especially.

Sure, you can come up with a handful of players that left the club and didn't do as well as they'd have liked. But ANY club in the AFL can come up with those...the measure of a good club, is to look at the ratio, of good players given away, compared to bad players given away. Freo would have to have one of the worst ratio's, which is my point.

As Dr. Ralph said in another thread; Paul Medhurst is a small forward who has averaged more than 40 Goals each full season he's played in a side that where the delivery from the midfield has ranged from downright shyte to average. He isn't Phil Matera or Jason Akermanis, but he's doing his job.

But you're completely missing the point. The fact is that while White, McPhee, Clement, Sinclair and Croad are all playing reasonable to fantastic footy now; they displayed the exact opposite for us. Leigh B is the sole exception, and I was never happy with that trade.

White was an average ruckman, played ordinary, disinterested footy (I think his best return for the year was something like 139 hitouts, 130 odd disposals ,30 odd marks and 2 goals in 1997). Took a bribe from Gutnick and did his best to root us on the way out the door.

McPhee was an injury prone small backman who was superceded in his time with OP by Woods and Hayden, who at the time were playing far better footy. We ****ed up on the Headland trade, but thems the breaks.

We all know how Croad went, we needed him to play forward to provide us with a decent marking target after Modra's retirement. He had one good season, then bitched, moaned, whiteanted and put in ******** performances for the rest of the time he was here.

I'm not downplaying what they have achieved at their new clubs, but it's complete and utter mythology to suggest that McPhee, Croad, White, Clement and Sinclair were playing as well back then as they are now.

no that's my entire point... That players look bored, lazy useless when with fremantle, and then move to another club and become consistently good excellent performers.

When all of the above played at fremantle, they were decent players with the odd good game. Now all of the above players are excellent players who consistently play excellent footy.

They clearly had talent, when they were at fremantle. It was obviously there. Freo couldn't harness it

I'm saying, Paul Medhurst is another, who has the talent and capability to become an excellent player, and is putting in mediocre performances at fremantle.

Perhaps mediocre is too strong a word..he has been pretty gd, as u mentioned, kicking 40 goals etc. but he can be so much more.. that's my point
