The above sounds a bit harsh Dylan12 - although you do say "in recent months" - Robbo was the first from the Southbank School of medja that took any interest in our improvement over the later part of last year and in particular Jack Redden.

Definitely in recent months. I'd never minded Robbo until a couple of months ago, but I can't stand his recent attitude towards our club.

I could be wrong, but I thought it was poor of Robbo to basically insinuate to Leuey that due to him re-committing that Billy doesn't have a place at the club, to which Leuey promptly responded that the best teams generally have two high quality ruckmen.

I thought that would have been pretty obvious to an experienced footy watcher like him, but you could tell what he was trying to do...very similar to his moron colleague, Jay Clark's attempt at destabilising our club for no apparent reason.

Dickheads like Robbo and Jay Clark never pull that shit with the big powerful Melbourne clubs. Weak.

Mmmm. King, Dermie and Shaw, as well as the full support of the board.:(
When King started in the media I was quite sceptical and thought he was a bit of a twit. However over this year I think that he actually considers the words that come out of his mouth and frankly is becoming more of one the better media types out there.

I agree. It took me a little while to warm to him but I now think he's close to the best analyst on TV. When you compare him to some of the buffoons who have a special comments role, he is head and shoulders above.

Speaking of great comebacks, at 1:00pm today on Fox Footy's 30 Minute Thrillers, the Lions v Carlton 09 Elimination is featured.

I can't comment on what the atmosphere was like at the Gabba last Sunday, but that night at the Gabba was probably the loudest I have ever heard a Lions crowd.

Having been to the elimination final (and even the Port game before that), the West Coast game, the Adelaide game, the Essendon game and then last weekend, I can honestly say there isn't much seperating them at all. All of them still give me heart palpatations, all of them give me a phantom sore throat, and all of them bring a huge cheesy grin to my face.

I reckon that'd be an awesome night - get a bunch of mates, a bunch of pizzas and just watch those six games.

I wasnt at the game but friends and family were and they said it was the loudest theyve ever heard a crowd and it was around another 10k people than last weekends game.

Be wary with recruits

Sheedy said it's vital the right decisions are made, citing the Brisbane Lions' ill-fated decision to sign Brendan Fevola to a big-money deal ahead of the 2010 season.
"We've got to get players, there's no doubt about that, and we'll get them," Sheedy said after the loss.
"But don't panic and get the wrong ones.
"I think sometimes that's what clubs do and I've seen clubs grab at straws and not really get it right.
"You probably saw that with Brisbane and Fevola. They just never got it right."

Sat through both the Crows and West Coast games last year at the Gabba- both great wins, particularly the Crows win as we won the game by grinding them down whereas we perhaps won the WC game out of Polkinghorne's bum.

But neither of these games matched the Geelong game- the roar when McGrath took his mark with 0 secs left completely blotted out the siren. Literally couldn't hear it, at least where I sat.

It's what keeps me coming back to the Gabba with my hard-earned through the dark days gone and perhaps to come.

The only fly in the ointment- couldn't get a pie at halftime. How hard can it be? My enquiries found that the caterers had underestimated the crowd size- estimated 22k, got 24.5k. So an underestimate of 10% completely threw out the pie count. I am not kidding. Make your pie-deprivation anger be heard loud and clear.
