first and foremost....where will it be played?

while watching the hawks crows game last night, they said that the winner of this match determines the stadium.

I am actually quietly confident about this one. I think we are a good chance to knock the Crows off, though we have an abysmal record at AAMI.
Should be a good game. Hopefully we see McLean replicate the form Sylvia is in atm.

We are disgracfeul at AAMI Stadium. Hopefully because it's only a NAB Cup match, Adelaide won't be at their best and this will give us half a chance. Not confident.

I am not sure if it's a good thing that we have been playing scrappy footy but still winning. There have been some great signs like Colin Sylvia, but I'm still a little uncertain where we sit.

However, I think after Darwin, and another warm night at the TD for the Brisbane game, the boys would be hard pressed to beat the Crows.

After a shocker in the first round, I'm hoping Ferguson can come in and prove the doubters wrong.

With Moloney, Bruce, McLean and Yze to come back though, we may still be some sort of chance. And there's also Ben Holland who might be also able to provide an extra option up forward, but he probably won't be back until the season starts proper.

All the best to Choppy and the Dees. Might go along to throw my support behind Choppy and the rest of the team :thumbsu:
Ditto. And because my eldest (15yo) plays for a club that wears the Demons colours I have the clobber and know the song.

Once again Adelaide look to be hit by more injuries... Bock missing may leave a big hole...McGregor may go back which will expose Hentschell to more pressure.

My hope is we pick young kids to replace whoever is out and we blood them and see what they can or cant do... we lose we lose, life goes on and round 1 is our next goal

From what PerthCrow said, seems we might be in with a better shot than expected and with the return of a few of our better players, who knows?

And what craps me off is that, if we win, and the Dockers win, we will have to travel for the fourth week in a row to Subiaco for the GF, even though the Shockers have played at Subi at twice already. Host venue for GF is decided through who has kicked the most goals, meaning that we have no chance whatsoever. Freo kicked a massive score last week IIRC.

So for the Dees, it'd be Darwin in extreme heat, Telstra Dome in hot conditions, probably Adelaide in hot conditions this week, and then potentially Subiaco.

Still, would prefer the fixture we have/will have as opposed to playing practice matches in country venues.

Once again? they didnt have injuries last year.

On form, we'd just pip the Crows. But you can't compare their performance against the Hawks to their coming performance against the dees. Our game-plan couldn't be more different. Long kicking, direct low-possession football may just play right into their hands.

There is a glimmer of hope for us though. I watched their win against the Hawks yesterday, and when they sang the song, I reckon half of them were wondering if they left the iron on. Couldn't give a crap one way or the other.

Don't want us to win just because they don't try hard enough, personally I'd rather we lose than have to go to Subi. Too many more players get injured or worn out and this pre-season will be for naught.

Yeah that sucks, and that tool of a WCE supporter was complaining about his little boys playing in heat. Unbelievable.

Most of them are tools actually...

No doubt, we are crap at AAMI.

Result is irrelivant IMO, just like to see us work out sometype of game plan to play AAMI. I'd love to see the stats but I would be very surprised if there is a worse performing team at the venue in the last 2-3 years.

Those injuries to the Crows actually give us a pretty good chance. That means no McGregor to worry about up forward, no Welsh who usually tears us to pieces (That is when Nicho plays on him) and no Ricciuto.
Actually now I'm expecting a Dees vs Cats NAB Cup GF and I'll be happy if we win however it doesn't mean that much (Hey we get money and its good exposure, but no-one will forget what happened to Carlton).
Having said all that, I wouldn't be surprised if we got smashed.

I don't know the stats either but I can't remember losing to Essendon at AAMI Stadium. Same with the Dockers.
