It's not like all South Sudanese are a problem. I was talking to a copper. He said he goes into the homes to arrest the kids. The parents are good, there's three or four good kids, then one who has gone completely off the rails. They keep picking up the same kids who the court have released on bail or deferred sentences. It's a difficult balance between giving them a second chance and protecting the community - but the situation has become out of control. There are no go zones and some occasions where the police think they've been lured to an ambush.

Sentencing is a concern, such as Akon Mawien, a 19-year-old man born in Sudan. He was given a 12-month deferred sentence after being charged with two counts of armed robbery. He and two other young thugs wore hoodies and balaclavas and raided jewellery stores armed with sledgehammers in Coburg and the city stealing $200,000 worth of jewellery and designer watches. I would think removal of citizenship and deportation would be a more appropriate punishment.

Where exactly?

I remember the Broady boys too as well as Lords in the late 70s to mid 80s. Newmarket railway station was totally covered in graffiti with every sign covered over with "Lords". They classed it as their turf. You never caught the Broady train at night alone back in those days.

Hahahaha, the Lords! I haven't heard them mentioned in ages. I grew up in Flem in the 80s/90s and remember them well. Newmarket was my station.

And I recall a classic bit of graffiti. The Lords had tagged a wall right down from my house (near the Maccas). Then someone opposed to the Lords had come along. So at first you had:

L
O
R
D
S

written on the wall. Which had been very skillfully amended to:

Lords
Only
Rule
Dog
Shit

Snake_Baker will recall Flem in that period well.

I disagree with the removal of citizenship, it's going down too much of a slippery slope. However, I agree that deportion should be the punishment for any non citizen who commits a serious crime ( a serious crime in my view ultimately involves physically harming or threatening a person) or a repeat offender of medium level crimes ( In my view these crimes are things like home robbery when the occupants are not home or stealing/hot wiring a car). This should be a case for every non-citizen regardless if they are from Sudan, China, USA, Italy, England or any country.

You told us you went armed to go and fight people on the streets a few weeks back.
Big difference between some innocent person getting assaulted while walking their dog, and that antifa vermin you support getting a clip over the ear'ole.

Not surprised you can't tell the difference.

The other difference is that you didn't actually follow through with your threat.

You only posted on the internet about assaulting people.

Keep winding him up he'll have to resort to calling you a racist.
Sudanese street gangs running amok in Melbourne = right wing alarmist identity politics nothing to see here.

Someone waved a confederate flag in Hicksville, North Carolina = The Nazis are taking over Australia.

This is how his mind works.

This was when across the road from Newmarket was still abattoirs and stockyards right? I don't think the people who moved in to the area expected machete attacks after the gentrification.

They're just diversity machetes though. Hard to think anything other than how beautiful they are.

Slightly off-topic, but the right-wing's love affair with claiming there are 'no go zones' - does it ever extend to areas women may feel unsafe walking alone at night?

And for all you teenagers and young adults on here - yes, the claims about the Vietnamese involved their use of weapons too.

But everyone should note that the issue, as reported, is about a crime gang. Not a gang. It is a problem different to just scare mongering about an ethnicity because they are visible.

There's no incentive for the opposition in Victoria or the Feds to help the Andrews government try and do anything about this. They've politicised the issue and while they're in opposition would prefer this problem to continue and even worsen because it suits their agenda.

Help a brother out. What did Moshie say about attacking people?

It is interesting that it is the Feds leading the charge here.

Guy is still deeply vulnerable over his "Lobster With A Mobster" stuff and I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's more to come on that.

It's as much about the next federal election as it is Victorian politics. This ties in nicely with the ALP will let in lots of dangerous brown people campaign that the Libs are sure to wheel out.
