"I was at this last night and hearing from the new players, Ross and Bell first hand filled me with so much hope and excitement for 2019! Also Lee Spurr was MC and I miss him :(

A couple of things that weren't reported that I thought you guys might be interested in:

There were more than a couple of cheeky comments about Lachie Neale leaving
A suggestion for a medal to be awarded at the Len Hall game
Ross agreed with one of the members that our goal-kicking last year at times was shit and alluded that was why they targeted Rory Lobb and Jesse Hogan during the trade period
There were also a few questions regarding our treatment by the media and how it's generally been poor and what the club was doing about it. I found this one most interesting, because the panel (Ross Lyon, Steve Rosich, Peter Bell and Dale Alcock) agreed that they felt our pain but obviously tackling the media isn't something you want to be doing, and so the focus would really be on improving our on and off-field success and let that speak for itself. "

I went for the first time with a mate. Thought the mood was really positive. Would have liked less Dale and his re-count of '18 and more Ross. Of all the newbies, Colyer is the best speaker, and he's already a fan of the pre-season regime, although as Ross said, he wants a game so will obviously say the right things. Spurr did a decent job as MC- but many of the questions to the players have been asked already.
As has been mentioned, Ross simplifying the message, not focussing as much on individual player weaknesses, back to the future. Did mention a few times how hard it was for young players to stay disciplined off the field-kinda got the vibe that he was referring to a few good mates within our squad who are still finding their way in that regard.
Steve n Dale also made reference to the first year at Optus not being a big profit year. They'd be wanting bigger crowds and realise that only wins will attract that. Did say the draft and trade crop had meant membership numbers are looking good for 19.
Free beer and some food to end the night. Worth going to.

I’ve attended these meetings regularly over the years and every year I swear that I’m not going to waste three hours of my life by going the next year. But I turn up anyway.
Fortunately this year I didn’t have to make a decision on attending as I totally forgot it was on.

Ignorance has come through to improve your life once again!

Praise ignorance!!
