I was watching him closely in that half. Looks like he could be a player for you guys when he starts marking a fee of those balls. Been very competitive against Kreuzer. Probably best big man on the ground so far.

I have been hoping for so long that the big fella would get a crack at it. I gotta say he has exceeded my expectations getting up to speed at AFL level so quickly.

If I'm being honest I'm finding Apeness more exciting than any of our draftees from last year at the moment. There's just something so satisfying about watching a once injury riddled player tear it up and play with no bandaging at all.
Theres something to work with if he can stay on the park. String some games on end and get some experience.
We need to remember hes played a handful of games, hes effectively a first year player in games played without alot of games played continuously.

Like if you thought he was cooked and gone at the end of the year before he came back into the side.
Starting to clunk a few of those pack marks, liked his game today. If he continues to come good, it solves a huge problem for us.
Crossing every appendage possible he gets a fair run at it for the rest of the season and into next year.

What do you think happens with Taberner when he returns ? Does Taberners play purely as a forward and Apeness to pinch hit in the ruck? 201 & 198cm respectively.
I’m not getting tired of eating humble pie on here. Every time I seem to write one of ours off, they deliver. Ape’s big pack marks and long goals today we’re a feature. Really pleased for him.

This is an acceptable arrangement to me. Gives separation to the contested marking players and the best leading target is full forward. 2 good ball users/goal kickers up on the flanks.
I did the same thing with apeness.
Sheridan, Apeness, Kersten are the 3 I have written off and they have impressed me.
All 3 should be on the list next year.

Maybe yeah.... maybe Bennell.
I think McCarthy would do alot better in this forward line, being played as a 3rd/4th forward. He could play further up the ground. He is a lovely kick inside 50.
Good to see him fit and doing well, one of favourite players.
