Would he handle a Chom/Arch/Xerri or are they only 1-3 year players?

1-4 year players are his primary responsibility but he does work the others as well.

I think he's done a reasonable job to be honest. He looks after 1st-4th year players. They aren't the ones that are consistently letting us down on the weekend. Natural talent aside there is a large enough group of players progressing well to suggest the development program is stronger than it was under Gavin Brown. Can appreciate that people might have a different opinion however

There are comments comparing us to Werribee, where he coached in the recent past.

Couldn't hurt to have him more involved but if he's doing a good job developing players then **** it keep him doing that. Its more important long term.

He took over after Covid, his first season was cancelled, his second season they finished 10th and in his third season they lost the GF.

Obviously he played a big part in setting them up for success last year. This year they are below us on the VFL ladder, tho being gutted by AFL clubs probably has something to do with that.

Maybe it’s a communication issue. When we said we need to develop our turnover game we meant scoring from turnovers.

Barlow developed our ability to turn it over instead.

It's a tough job, he's trying to develop players in a side that has no gameplan, poor senior leadership and most of his group are playing in positions that are foreign to them.

The biggest misconception in footy just about is that we are over burdened with talent and that we are just lacking in system and direction. We are, but our players are mostly shit.

Funny that

• PC was the best small forward in the comp this year before the stupid suspension
• last year Larkey nearly won the Coleman
• Chom was plucking them and absolutely dominating the backline
• LDU was dominating games
• Archer was monstering small forwards
• Sheezal was the best player we’ve seen at North since Carey and more
• Colby was putting up ridiculous numbers
• Wardlaw has been electrifying
• Powell has had some great games but only plays when the team does
• and more!

I’m sorry but we may not have the best players but **** me you lot are so quickly forgetting when our players are in tune, we saw so much growth in even Stephen started to lift, FOS and Hardeman started to develop, Cam was finally kicking goals and providing effort. Look how we play when we want to win, all of a sudden we’re elite but as soon as we lose the same players some of you were congratulating last week suddenly have no talent.

We need to stop being narrow minded. It way more than talent or we have shit players, we have a bunch of young men run but cuddly nuffies that have NFI whet they’re doing. The environment, the way we treat losses, standards, emotional manipulation, no accountability, smiling and laughing over being embarrassed. The psyche of these players are shot.
