I did say threat. I agree he wouldn't do it, but it exists as t did with Ryder.yeah, Hurley isn't gonna walk out on the club
Pies don't have a lot of currency to get this done..

Those expecting brisbanes second are deranged. He is worth early 3rd.
If Hurley nominates pies dodoro will be extremely hard pressed to get 70% of his value...especially with walk out threat...
I would say zero short of a best 22 player like Sidebottom, Adams or Grundy.I did say threat. I agree he wouldn't do it, but it exists as t did with Ryder.

From all the quotes I've heard around Hurley, loyalty sounds big with him.
If he wants to go, i'd be surprised if he nominates one club.

Have the AFL fixed that loophole where last year, clubs traded in earlier picks for multiple later picks in order to gain more points to aquire academy players?
Of course he will nominate 1 Club.
No, but it won't have a huge impact this year anyway. Even before any O'Meara/Prestia trade, GC have 6 first and second round picks from the trading they did last year. GWS have a plethora of picks already, plus will probably get more from trades, so should be able to cover their academy players. Brisbane and Sydney don't have any.Have the AFL fixed that loophole where last year, clubs traded in earlier picks for multiple later picks in order to gain more points to aquire academy players?
Just remember that Jake Carlisle was only one phone call to the Swans away from being in a Hawthorn jumper.I don't understand people saying that clubs don't have the assets to get Hurley.
If Hurley goes and nominates a club, a deal will be done, doesn't matter who the club is.
What the player wants - the player gets. That's the footy world we are in.
Can't say I like it - even if my club may benefit.

we could swap stories like the monty python sketchWelcome to CrowWorld.
surely if the players hold the keys to the city, we're not the only ones.http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-08-17/payment-negotiations-threaten-to-drag-on-past-finals
Worth reading if you think the AFLPA has no power ... the game is changing.
AFL now bank-rolling the clubs ( big-time ) and negotiating with the AFLPA ... what a turn around.
Essendon are in deep trouble if Hurley nominates - I agree with others ... Essendon will be lucky to get 50% of his value in the current climate.
Essendon will do exactly what the AFL tell it to do - sign him up or take the deal if he nominates.

Definite "no" to the three players you named as I think it would hurt us more than help us.I would say zero short of a best 22 player like Sidebottom, Adams or Grundy.

pretty much. When things got late on and the stalemate on 5 didn't look like breaking, the hawks deal presented itself (17 and 19 i think) and Jake was open to it.I didn't realise it was that matter of fact.
I'd be interested to read the article if you have the link.

except this time, we get Hurley extending his contractYou are like a carbon copy of red bull in the Jake Carlisle trade thread last season. Spend the whole season saying we will get peanuts, not his worth ect.
Fast forward 100+ pages of his dribble, and we get pick 5.

i don't know how the swans got involved and what they got out of it.
i can't imagine he gave any interview. so not sure there is anything to read.I think you misunderstood my post. I was interested in the public confirmation that Jake would have definitively gone to Hawthorn if Sydney hadn't got involved. Not saying it didn't happen, just interested to read the article as I wasn't aware it was that clear cut.
http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl...a/news-story/250de098cad6f4f974ce1db23b8b5730 About two thirds down in that article. As I understand, Carlisle preferred to play for the Hawks over the uncertainty of going through the PSD which would have happened if the deal wasn't done.I think you misunderstood my post. All we had was a report that hawthorn made an offer, essendon spoke to carlisle and he wasn't opposed.
Maybe we made it up and the saints flinched. Who knows. it was a fun day though on the Carlisle thread. look it up.

Well to be fair, "reports suggest" is about the standard for journalism integrity when it comes to AFL tradingThanks for the article.
Although it's only "reports suggest" that he was open to going to the Hawks as a last resort I tend to believe it.
