You didn't even bother opening the article did you ?? I quoted lines from that article. The heading was 'Essendon’s 12 banned players make calls over return to Bombers in 2017'. Who's the nuffy now. Don't comment on something you didn't even look into.
I didn't need to read it but cannot see where the bolded of your previous comment which is from that dribble is actually a fact Hence the click bait trash comment written by slobs who are just trying to get people like you to frequent their pathetic execuse of a media hub
Word for word - "Six are coming out of contract and the other six having the option to walk out and become delisted free agents if they choose."

So think before you type.

the same media outlet that reported breaking news 3 days ago that would have been broken over 4 months ago when it reportedly happened?

how stupid can some people be

I had a fair idea of where the situation lie, but this all developed from the argument regarding Hurley's true trade value, which is the most important factor now, whether he stays or goes. Sure, it is highly unlikely he will entertain the clause to end up a DFA, but if he does want to leave the club, there is no way the club tries to get absolute top dollar for him, and then holds him to his current contract if a trade is not agreed upon. His situation is very similar to Dangerfield's in my opinion if he chooses he does not want to be at the club, and chooses a different club for 2017.

Come on guy.... really?

You've JUST SEEN Essendon do EXACTLY THAT.

Please don't.... I'm feeling unusually zen and not really wanting to do this.

I think the Bombers fans are right about the difficulty of proving the DFA clause.

But then I remember how often Bombers' fans have been wrong about the saga over the last few years.

So I'm not ruling anything out.

I don't think anyone has actually argued that point (well not anyone I care for anyway).

Maybe I didn't word it correctly. I'm
just saying that if a trade fails then I agree it's not a certainty that the grievance tribunal would approve a breach of contract to allow him to leave as a DFA.

But then it's hard to rule it out as a decent chance based on history.

It would also mean that Hurley does not play in 2017.

The imbeciles here that suggest otherwise do not have the slightest idea what is actually involved.

85 pages of people knowing absolutely nothing.

Astonishing.

I haven't seen that proved.

Be interested in the link.

Would you genuinely like me to quote case law?

The common sense button is a far more useful way.

The argument is that Hurley can leave as a DFA if he were so hostile to Essendon.

The counter is that if Essendon were equally hostile, he would not be playing anywhere in 2017 because 'actual' law outweighs 'AFL' law.

The reality is neither of these two things will happen, and I'm tired of moron after moron trying to claim it would.

I don't think it would involve hostility from Hurley. It would merely be a last resort if the Bombers refuse a trade offer that he and his club of choice view as reasonable.

So are you arguing that it's impossible for the tribunal to rule in favour of Hurley, or that Essendon could appeal to the point to where he couldn't get on a list in 2017?

Either way I'm not sure I understand your absolute confidence. Maybe spell it out more simply why it's impossible, I'd be really interested to see the proof.

Job done then. Well done Essendon.

/thread
Ha I wish.
Dyson would be advised what he can and can't say on that show.
Would be towing the club line so to speak. No one knows for sure until he sits down with the club next week and outlines his intentions

Definately not impossible for the tribunal to rule in Hurley's favour. It could go either way but I can't see it ever getting that far. Guess we will find out what his intentions are soon enough

I agree. Would only (potentially) go that far if the bombers turn down a reasonable offer, which they will definitely get.

No more than 2 weeks ago mate. 2 clubs, we (were/are) slightly in front, but everything will come out this week. The media will be on Hurley - watch...

Connors is playing this superbly IMO.

As Xavier Campbell alluded to a couple of days ago, Ess have had more discussions with his management in the last 7 days and I was told last night they were led to believe that they are in the box seat to retain him.

Someone is being told porkies because I have no doubt the Dogs are also being told they are leading the race too.

A lot to play out. Connors will derive maxmimum $$$$.
