All depends on Hurleys preference and I think He will choose Dons or Dogs but he would be a good fit at both Sydney clubs and they both have the pieces to get a deal done with Essendon

You would have to imagine GWS would ask the question of Hurley. He would be a great addition for them, and yes, no doubt, they would have the pieces to satisfy EFC. Just depends if he is willing to move there.
Sydney would be a great fit football wise. Not as sure they have what EFC are looking for

if by "entered the race" you mean Buckley was asked a question and answered it generically, that yes they are interested in any good players as any club would be, then yes, I guess they've entered the race.

If, however, you mean it by any rational interpretation of the statement, in that they are actively looking to do a deal, when they have no way of doing the deal, then no, they haven't entered the race.

I guess it just comes down to how much sensationalism you want to buy in to eh?

I also don't really think we could satisfy the trade requirements. But I'd love to see him leave the bombers for nothing as a delisted free agent. I reckon the AFL would like him to leave the bombers for nothing too because it'd make up for the free pick 1 you are inadvertently getting from all your banned players sitting out the year.

Despite all the rumours about the AFL actually warning clubs off Hurley, you're probably right in that they somehow didn't realise that the EFC could maybe get pick 1 and accidentally forgot to include it in their punishment, despite saying they felt EFC had been punished enough

Anyone stop to consider that Hurley might stay if he thinks the offers Essendon would receive will be way unders for him? I mean how would you feel knowing clubs dont value your worth?

Then he'd be stupid because I'd want my club to pay the least amount possible so they can pick up better players to complement me

Also has anyone thought that the Pies might be showing interest just to cause other teams to pay more for Hurley.

Buckley stated in a presser today that we are very keen on Hurley and are waiting for his decision.

Nevertheless I'd be surprised if we could manufacture a suitable trade.
