The stat they quoted in that clip I think was "#1 in 1-on-1 contests in the AFL"?

If I understand that correctly, that's a great way of showing Jamison's value. He really was a great find way back when. There's things he's not: flashy, attacking, huge.... but he is a very very solid and capable defender. Amazing given he does his shoulder about once an hour (gametime).

Thank goodness I didn't watch the match against the Swans when Jamo went down as I would of cried, glad to see that he is ok. The more I hear him speak the more I love the guy. He really has head screwed on.

Anyone else been disappointed with Jamison's game? Does some very silly things as a defender and his kicking has regressed badly. Used to pinpoint 60m passes, now struggling with short stuff.

Not the same Jamo we've come to love this year. That shoulder is giving him more concern than it has in the past. Kicking and its penetration relies on balance - when you have a messed up shoulder you lose more than you'd think. Aside from that beautiful contested mark in the forward line he's tending to shy away a little from the contest. Further, he appears mentally not as up to the challenge as he has in years past. Malthouse seems satisfied with him not taking the top defensive job every week.

From the outside looking in... Best thing for him will be to see out as much of the season as he can and then get it operated on (again).

But you're just assuming he's got a bad shoulder. He's played fine with it in worse condition...It's all mental IMO and maybe he's lost a little pace.

We're very lucky Rowe is in such good form.

You can rule out Jamison here and now. He's gone.

I posted that in 2007 about a 20 year old rookie defender who'd spent most of that year plying his trade with our seconds in the VFL. He's now about to play his 150th game for the club and I've never been happier to be proven wrong.

He's been a rock in defence shutting down some of the best in the game. He's been a leader, a professional and a role model for our young players. It's been a true pleasure to watch him don the Navy Blue. Congratulations Michael on an outstanding 150 games for the Mighty Blues.
