Only players I've seen improve this year in Hollands and Silvagni. That tells you everything about our development.
There’s clearly something bigger going on than player development.

Our execution in games is polarising.

How could anyone develop in that clearly sick environment.

Problem is - we are guessing as to the cause.

PS. probs to Ollie for his improvement given all of this

Quote from his presser tonight..

'The competitor in me is about getting better tomorrow.' What an absolute bunch of word vomit spin.

He's had 4 years of tomorrow's to get better.. are we supposed to wait another 4 on blind hope alone even though the overwhelming facts show he's not a good coach!?. But stability right..

I don't think he's improved as a coach over that period. The team and it's consistency certainly hasn't.

Any of the other 17 coaches in the league would be better utilising what we've got. It's sad.

The way we're playing, and with the games we have coming up, we'll be lucky to win 2-3 more games.
  • Port (Away), Pies and Brisbane we lose all three.
  • We might win against Melbourne, but they match up well against us. 50/50
  • Hawthorn will roll us.
  • Freo is over here in Perth, but we do match up well against them. 50/50
  • Gold coast will smash us.
  • Port again at home this time is a 50/50.
  • Essendon is the only one I'm somewhat confident in.
So 2-3 more wins.

Meaning 6-7 more losses, demonstrating the same crap that we've been showing for 12 months now. Same flaws on clear display, same shocking delivery I50, same simple skill errors, same agonizing path to score (despite winning the I50's).

It's been constant since halfway through the GWS game last year. The last good game we played was against Geelong last year (and again this year). It's otherwise been 12 months of rubbish.

I don't think Voss survives 6-7 more losses in the same manner we've been losing this year, and I don't think any player on the list is safe either.

Yoiu forgt the poart wher eVossy saiud - that yhe palyers were bullied did ya?

LOL at posters like you ranting away when teh obvious fact is that thsi bumnch as a whole is pizz weak.

Him saying the players got bullied means nothing. We actually won contested possessions and regularly do.
More deflection from the coach away from his game plan and onto the players..
Unlike you, I'm not satisfied merely by a coach talking tough in a presser. Means nothing. Actions speak louder than words and for years he's been saying the same crap without improving anything.
He's the wrong guy. It's obvious.

Also is that you Vossy? The spelling makes me think it could be.

😂 😂

I think Voss really out coached Clarkson in that last quarter and should be rewarded with an extension
The reason we need to sack Lloyd asap is he may give him one. There was absolutely no need to give him the last one. No team above edfl div 2 would have ever been trying to poach Voss based on what he's shown.

He’s trying not to offend any of our snowflake playing list.
Time to call them out if he wants to save his job.

Pagan v Brisbane 2007
Ratten v Gold Coast 2012
Malthouse v Collingwood 2015
Bolton v Essendon 2019
Teague v Port Adelaide 2021
Voss v North Melbourne 2025 (?)

Unfortunately (because I do like Voss the person and the leader) it has the same smell about it.
I don't like people losing their jobs but what else can you do

Constant state of inebriation. The only explanation for anyone thinking Voss knows what he's doing.
Constant state of delusions of grandeur ( a by product of entitlement syndrome) for anyone that thinks that Voss doesn't know what he is doing.

Delusions of middle of the pack is what I'm suffering from atm. We should be at worst a middle of the road team. Not one that will lose over 3 quarters to the bottom side, and lose outright to 2nd and 3rd bottom sides.

Glad to see you've sobered up. I am a little worried you actually wrote the words Voss knows what he is doing, though. There's help out there, don't be afraid to seek it.

Him saying the players got bullied means nothing. We actually won contested possessions and regularly do.

We also won the inside 50's and regularly do.

We do the hard work at the coal face, get the ball inside 50 a lot.

Our problem is that our entries inside F50 are rubbish (bomb it into the F50 from 25m outside the arc giving defenders plenty of time to zone off) and the fact that Curnow is a liability (he doesnt mark, he doesnt chase, he doesnt tackle, he doesnt lead, and is always double or triple teamed thanks to above bombing inside 50) and we have zero quality small forwards and zero damaging half forwards/ outside mids (Petracca, Dusty, Bont, Daicos etc) on the list.

More deflection from the coach away from his game plan and onto the players.

If you want to point the finger at someone, point it at Curnow and our list building team over the years.

Our forward line is a shambles (we have a mercurial forward who is utterly useless when not one out, and a total lack of small forwards and half forwards), and our forward entries are even worse because we have next to nothing in quality distributors.

Wholeheartedly agree with your points around the F50 entries, Curnow's workrate, leading patterns etc. All of that is diabolical and painful to watch.

The finger needs to be pointed in lots of directions. So whilst I haven't been a big fan of many of our list management decisions (and that clearly needs addressing), that doesn't give Voss a free pass after 4 years as head coach. He should be improving our system of ball movement, our F50 entries and cohesion between mids and forwards. The fact that most of the players have gone backwards under him speaks volumes. 4 years is plenty to start seeing some genuine positive signs.

So yeah I agree the problems run deeper than just the coach but if we are fair dinkum he is a big part of the problem. And on the eye test it appears he's lost the players. That's pretty much the final nail as it's virtually irrecoverable. If you want the responsibility of being head coach and being stubborn on a game plan that simply isn't working, that's fine, but when it doesn't work repeatedly you have to fall on your sword.

Voss has to go. The Assistants have to go. Lloyd should be shown the door. Austin would be on very thin ice but I do question how much he gets overruled on list management decisions and the power structure there. His love affair with taking dud small after dud small is bewildering. And at the heart of it, the board is a big problem. Too many focused on everything but actual football results. We have veered so far away from being a football club that's built on success and winning and steered towards being about profits and winning social media with witty posts. The whole underbelly and fabric of the club needs to enter the modern era. That means identifying faults, bringing in the right people to nurture out kids and implement systems that work, and removing the attitude that everything will just come to us because we are Carlton. The only way out of this is systemic change.

Teague’s was the North game a few weeks earlier when we lost by 40 and laid 30 tackles

Sorry horsey but he’ll get sacked in 2-3 years too

Need Horse type imo

Someone with enough gravitas to sort out our million dollar players
I'm a desperado atm AG.

when people resort to personal attacks - all they do is underscore their lack of rationale and those that 'like' this type of ad hominem - merely flag their own personality 'issues'.

for people on this forum most of whom struggle to open a can of tomatoes when pressed and have never played or coached at any level of competitive sport let alone contact sport to dismiss a person like Voss and to use such disgusting language - well to me - you are only part of the ugly side of crowds - the type that have inhabited coliseums in order to satisfy your base instincts and only heads on a spike will satisfy

what is amusing is that when any push back even by way of sarcasm or satire using your own words and thoughts is served back - your anger and fury is ignited - because quite frankly you can't tolerate a contrary view - you are too busy searching for validation by trying to outdo each other with angry nuffery.

Is there anything in the fact that you’ve had Ratten, MM, Bolton, Teague, Voss and nothing has changed? I mean these guys can’t all be bad coaches or not up to it, there has to be something deeper happening because this goes back 15 years where nothing has really got better.

Your list is actually incredible. You have some of the most capable players in the AFL but it hasn’t galvanised into anything. Surely the members start calling for change in head office.
