Mic'ing up the journos in press conferences

Its incredible that for an organisation as large as the AFL, they are still unable to hook up a second microphone for the journalists at the press conferences.

You don't even need a second microphone - if you want to be stingy, use a compressor (the simplest of settings) and make them at least audible, albeit somewhat muffled.

Hell, you can probably get AI to get it done for free..

I watch Longmuir conference and spend half the answer he gives trying to guess what the journos original question to him was. Just seems so unprofessional when they seem to go to great lengths marketing and loading video etc.

Same here mate. Its baffling that they've surely heard this countless times.

The thing is that its so easy to solve, its almost as if they won't do it just to upset people/out of spite

It really varies. Sometimes the other side of the room is adequately audible, at worst you'd have to guess the question based on the answer.

The pressers have been useless for this reason for years, they might as well talk to the wall!

At each of the main stadiums build a lecture theatre type room with a microphone at each seat. Have capacity for say 20 journos - two rows of 10 and just feed the mikes into the main audio.

If you have even a half decent sound system hearing the questions isn't an issue. Although they're never very inspiring and you can always figure them out by the answer given anyway.
Probably the thing that least irks me about afl in all honesty
