Am wondering what your decisionsare on some of your players on your list are, I know alot of people from other clubs are quite interested in some of the fringe players.

Who are the players that wont be at Geelong next year,

Personally, I am quite interested in Prismal (who isnt), Davenport, Tenace.

Any others who arent really performing or coming on that wont be at the cats next year.

Thanks for everyones insight, whoever puts in.

Cheers.

I think the cats would like to keep Prismal. They know that he is one injury away to one of the senior list from being a regular player.

Tenace will be delisted I think. I am no sure about Davenport - there is probably not a spot for him right now but the Cats probably wouldn't want to lose him

Also Byrnes could be traded

I think Tenace will struggle to be on the list next year

I don't think there will be much of a struggle - GAWN !!!
Tenace would be a good chance of getting a 2nd shot at another club.
DJ will also be gone.It hasn't helped that he's had a couple of injuries this year when he might've been a chance for a senior gig.
NA would be another gone from the list.

After last year I don't think there will be a lot of changes.

Tenace and David Johnson will probably be picked up by other clubs. Perhaps a slight chance West might ask for a move for more game time.

Hogan may get delisted. Other than that I think we will fight to keep everyone else together.

 Essendon could pick him up in the pre-season draft for nothing. I suspect his days in the hoops are fast running out.

Shame really, I had high hopes when GFC drafted him.

Agreed

Agree about Tenace. I think Davenport has more upside than Tenace and there is probably only really room for one of them on the list now.

Also Byrnes could be traded

I think Geelong should have shopped him at the end of last year. His value would have never been higher than at that point. At Geelong Byrnes will always sit on the fringe, at another club he could become a regular.

That is a win-win in my eyes.

Off topic but i dont know if it deserves a new thread, but who do you think the cats will opt out of Hawkins and Lonergan this week. Lonergan is putting together some reasonable consistent games, but of recent Hawkins has been dominating the VFL. Your would think the cats will be considering bringing Hawkins into the game against adelaide this week, Kicked 7 last week, Lonergan only managed 2 when we scored over 180. Who do you think will play? Hawkins, Lonergan or both?

I think Tenace and David Johnson are certainties to not be at the Cattery next year while I think theres a fair chance Byrnes will be traded.(could get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him) Prissa could be asked to be traded depending on how many games he gets in the second half of this year - hopefully he stays.

Early stages

Bye Bye: Shannon Friggen Byrnes, Kane Tenace.

Kane has been given many chances. Shannon is average (and that a compliment).

Prismall will look to be traded if we are not careful.

early stages suggest (like others have said)

we'll lose Tenace, Johnson, Ablett and Hogan.

Bring in Ranga and have 3 selections in the draft.

what would you guys take for Prismall, have thought about this long and hard, and he seems to have a very good head on his shoulders, althouigh some people (mainly Cats fans) have said that he would struggle at other clubs being alot higher up the pecking order in a midfield.

What about a 3rd rounder, Essendon would not be willing to give up their first 2 draft picks for a largely untried, unproven young midfielder, he has shown glimpses of what he can produce but is their a spot at the geelong midfield on a consistant basis.

I am also a huge fan of Tenace, how has he played in the VFL, where is he best suited to, is he still running out of dedence for the reserves.

How does Davenport go, same type of mould as Prismall?? any one else>

Tenace will definately go at years end and although he hasn't been to bad in the 2's he still has the ability to bring out the heaalth cover and ambulance cover when delivering the ball. I would hate to be on the end of one of his chippy little kicks.
David Johnston - gone
Simon Hogan Gone and
Prismall has to be close with a new contract beckoning I think??

I don't think they will get rid of hogan, the lad is only in his second season and is actually starting to show a bit, his starting to bulk up, be disappointing for them to dump him so early might come back to bite us in the bum!!!

so Teance is a wasted talent really, dont rate him, am only asking, I would have thought that Prismall would be good trade bait, get some good picks for him, just an observation. sorry.

To be honest you'll probably get him for nothing in the PSD if you play your cards right as he is uncontracted.

But on the open market, if he was still contracted, there's no way you'd get him for a third rounder. He'll walk straight into your starting on-ball brigade.

surely the cats would see some value in him and try to sqeeze something out of him from another club, draft picks players, but yeah,

we'll do everything we can to keep him on the list.

Wont be traded unless he wants to be, then he's likely to just walk.

....I think theres a fair chance Byrnes will be traded.(could get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him)....

Which dememted club would give a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Byrnes? Akermanis went to the Bulldogs for a very late 2nd rounder, and he had a lot more trade value than Byrnes ever could.

Plus clubs will be less inclined to trade away draft picks this year given that it will the last uncompromised draft for a while.

Tenace and DJ are gone. You'd suspect Prismall will ask to get traded as well. Delist NAblett as well....Hogan could be in danger as well but has actually been showing a bit in the twos of late, likewise Byrnes might be for the chop/trade. IMO Moles deserves to be elevated; apart from that, let's mine the draft. Hopefully use some trades to upgrade picks.
