McGrady to NYK done and the Rockets get pretty much everything they wanted. Hats off to Daryl Morey.

The Rox got Martin and Hill and the picks they wanted with minimal protection.

Sacramento have move Martin for a starting forward (Landry), and two expirings in Hughes and Dorsey.

I still don't like them giving up Landry but that trade is excellent for Houston.

Bobcats to get Tyrus Thomas.

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a trade that will send Jodie Meeks and Francisco Elson to the Philadelphia 76ers for Primoz Brezec, Royal Ivey and a second round pick, two league sources told ESPN's Chad Ford.

Wow that trade became a lot better, the wizard does it again. Sucks losing Landry but rumors are he and the front office did not get along so was likely to walk when his contract was up anyways.

As always the biggest trades are done moments before the deadline.

- jizz send ronnie brewer to the jizzlies for draft pick

- lolcats acquire ty thomas (channing frye II) for acie law and flip murray

re: knicks, they basically used their draft pick to acquire lolgrady and rodriguez

Happy to get Tyrus in the end, hopefully Larry Brown can help get his head in the game. Charlotte also acquired Theo Ratliff for a future 2nd round pick.

Pumped!!!!

Goodbye horrible Jeffries contract, Rodriguez is better then Duhon at the PG possie, will have enough for 2 max contracts.

Donnie Walsh thank you!

Now all you have to do is get someone to join what's left of the Knicks.

All you have to show for the draft period 2009-12 is Toney Douglas and whoever you snaffle with the Houston pick in 2011. Unless you don't sign a big free agent, then you'll keep your own top 5 protected pick.

Houston hosed you. For an expiring contract and a PG you have going RFA in 3 months.

Hmmm so what becomes of Amar'e?

At this stage I think he'll walk at season's end.

Do you think the Bobcats will keep him beyond this season?

Although you still need the FA's to want to go to NY and with the Cavs acquiring Antawn Jamison I don't see LeBron going anywhere.

Wade either stays in Miami or goes to Chicago IMO, we can also offer him the max and we've got a base of Rose, Noah and at the moment Deng and Hinrich plus the rookies in Taj Gibson and James Johnson. It also helps with Wade being a Chicago native.

The only big FA I can see New York landing is Chris Bosh and then Boozer level FA.

Danilo Gallanari? he is still there

As if we wont sign anyone. We didnt get hosed at all. Ridiculous.

It was all about clearing cap space for next season and Donnie did that. Got rid of Jeffries awful contract, goodbye to Hughes and Hill who has bust all over him and saved us another 3mill by using him in the deal.

Rodriguez was the icing on the cake as well. This was all about 2010 and its going in the right direction, fk the past. New York will sign players, its who they sign now thats the question.

In regards to the picks, it doesnt matter. If we sign the 2 maxs as planned then its all about playoffs and going for the championship. Thats the goal.

Donnie is getting max love in NYC as we speak and its well deserved

Hahah one day Hill was part of your core 4 players, today he has bust written all over him.
Its true, if he wasnt going to be moved then he had to play and develop which wasnt happening. At the time when i stated the 4 players that should stay i believed he should but he isnt getting game time and he has flaws... massive flaws which may not get better.
Losing him to get the T-Mac deal done is a no brainer.

Martin's hardly ball-dominant, I just think Brooks would be best served coming off the bench than being a 3rd option with the starters. Plus a Brooks/Martin back-court would be pretty brutal defensively.
While Martin might not be ball-dominant in the sense of holding onto the ball, he does require to get his fair share of touches to be effective. This is where the team will need to set the screens for Martin and look for him a lot. He doesn't create for himself well.

This is why I think he will fit in very well in Houston.

Even with Bosh, I could see him leaving but I don't see him signing with NY. They have gutted their roster for a chance to go after a FA. I know its a big market but if any of these players are about winning AND money then NY would be the last place you would want to go.

I think it would be more attractive to Bosh to stay in Toronto than to go to a worse team in NY.

There would be quite a few teams with cap room for max FA that would be more attractive in terms of winning than NY.

This is all true but do you really think we would've been better off trying to rebuild via the draft? Two max contracts has been our goal for a long time, I'm relieved that we've finally got a chance to do it. Everyone knows you need a superstar in this league to have a shot. How would we have got one otherwise? Our pick this year is off to Utah, we have no assets to trade for one, the free agent class is our only path.
I know our roster is still dogshit and that we won't be attracting anyone based on championship potential unless two of the guns privately agree to come to NY but we are still NY and that is undeniably attractive.
I think there's a remote chance that we do pull off signing two deserving max FAs but even if we don't then CP3 could be on his way the next year!

It's all hope at this stage but that's more than we've had for a decade or more.

Carmelo is available in 2011 as well.

You make very good points Gautama

Not at all. 3 guys are showing their worth.

David Lee - All Star :D
Danilo Gallanari - going to be a star
Jordan Hill - Massive upside and has looked excellent in minimal time given on court.

New York have been ok this year. A couple bad losses but a couple of good wins against quality teams and have also ran a couple excellent teams like the Lakers and Cleveland all the way.

Knicks will be a playoff team next year, i have no doubt whatsoever

:D:D:p Epic fail there Pricey

sblack he does have upside and he gave 100% when given time but there is a excellent chance he could be a bust but we wont know until he gets good mins on the court

sblack his defence and hustle rebounding is excellent but cant shoot and has terrible shot selection plus gets into foul trouble very easily.

he did look excellent when he was playing in regards to intensity and grabbing offensive and defensive boards in the time he was given.

Does that mean he will be a good player? who knows. Its a risk move but there is no guarantee he will improve his shot selection.

the trade had to be done plain and simple for 2010

an ode to the great man as well

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Song to the tune of popular kid's song "this ol' man"

This ol' man He makes trades
he make trades that un-dug our graves
Now the Knicks are still wack but no longer are we a joke
This ol man gave us some hope

This ol man he made moves
he made moves that stopped the boos
Now the Knicks are still wack but no longer are we a joke
This ol man gave us some hope

This ol man had to trade picks
He trade picks because our contracts were sh%*
Now the Knicks are still wack but no longer are we a joke
This ol man gave us some hope

This ol man got T Mac
He got T Mac to help clear cap
Now The Knicks are still wack but no longer a joke
This ol man gave us some hope!

Lol nup, that's rolled Pricey. You said he was showing his worth - that of a top 10 pick.

Obviously you do the trade, but that's not the point.
