Even though the COD stuff is yawn worthy.

It is well worth spending $20 for the game.

It does depend on the direction you want to take with the game though.

Do you want to go EBIAC's route and download the unlimited resources just so you can build a bunch of sprites and maybe some massive structure like a building or whatever?

Or do you want to play it more gamey (like what I'm doing) and take the frustration of getting r*ped at lower levels by nasties as well at night time. But still have an awesome time mining for precious minerals to help build your kingdom?

It's definitely a hard decision as either one can be extremely fun and trying in their own way.

Personally I am loving the decision I took as I just have a ridiculous amount of plans, but know I have to work really hard to get there. And while it can be extremely frustrating to lose all the stuff I have worked so hard for just because I am in a slightly dull lit area...it's massively rewarding when you can build what you want because of everything that you have found.I don't really get what you're saying, but I am pretty sure there's lower levels in the MCC area.

It all depends on how far we want to go with it really.

FWIW, if you need pictures or anything of outside the stadium at least, I live 5 mins from the G so can head down and take some at any time.:)

If we're going to do it, we're going to do it properly. We won't be able to get the dimensions 100% unless we probably build below sea level and make it really huge. The amount of half asked stadiums I've seen just ruin it.

If we're just doing it for the one build why not just use a hamachi server? No WorldEdit either, unless we are going below sea level :)

After about three to four hours of working in Paint, I've finally come up with the oval plans which were a real bitch.

Some of the blocks don't line up, there centre square lines are only 49 metres across instead of 50 (;)) and the pockets resemble that of Subiaco with how deep they are, but the pockets/flanks were just a guess with me 'connecting the dots' so to speak.

I left out the centre circle because I had no idea how big it was, so I'll leave that until later. I also didn't to the interchange gates, but they are extremely easy to put in.

The light green is the oval, the dark green is the grass in the gap between the field and fence. Looking at it now, the half closest to the ground will be the same colour as the field and the half closest to the fence will be dark, as that's more like the MCG from memory.

Let me try and rephrase my question. :p

Is the grass on the field on the same level as the grass outside?

That would be awesome when we start building outside the ground, for sure. :thumbsu:

I know most of the ground, but having images would be incredible.

Would say no. When you walk in you have to walk down a fair few stairs to get to MCG grass level.

But the grass in Yarra Park varies. Leaving from the MCC side of the G it goes uphill, where as leaving from Punt Rd, it goes down, then up again. :p

Are we going to do the mowed lines on the ground?

Sort of a light for a few lines and dark for a few to give that effect? (Would have to use wool obviously)

^Similar to that.

Ohhh k, no it's not. It's a good few levels below outside ground level.

It depends how well the light wool matches up with the grass. We'll give it a crack and if they only look subtly different from each other, as the mowed lines effect is meant to look, we'll stick with it.

Oh man IDEA. We could edit the paintings to look like the scoreboard/bigscreens/advertising.

WIN.
That's actually an incredible idea. We could have the boundary fence ads, decking ads and scoreboard ads! We could probably just make the scoreboard but you've smashed a six with this idea.

Anyone else play with a controller? I'm using my PS3 controller and it makes it a lot easier to do mining marathons.

I've been playing on the Internode server, where are you guys?

Also, what mods should I be running?

Just starting playing this again but I still have a Windows XP which is obviously quite old now. My parents have no reason to want to update it as I have a ipad and my sister has a laptop. It lags horribly most the time. I have set my distance to tiny and all the other little things but it still lags.

Is there a way I can stop it from lagging as much ?

Would be happy to help in the MCG idea. Would be incredible when finished.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, the wool in the wiki pics doesn't look too different to the regular grass. But I haven't seen it in game as of yet.

I'd love to use my PS3 controller, but can't get this damn computer to load the driver, just fails every time.

So I've just been using my laptop mousepad atm, have bought a proper wireless mouse that's getting sent currently that will help with getting things done quicker and make it a bit more responsive.

Are you using Motioninjoy?
Yep. My laptop isn't connecting the PS3 controller up though, keeps saying the 'driver failed'. Tried plenty to get it working again...but alas, nothing has worked.

The story continues:

So I now have a dozen or so hours less time spent on real things. In beta single player survival.

In addition to two penthouse apartments I've dug straight down through the bottom of one of my mountains.

Have a full iron armour suit, iron sword etc. Have reached bedrock and I'm hacking around. Found my first diamonds - not sure of the best thing to do with them. What can you do with lava flows?

Plenty of iron and redstone. Bit of lapis lazuli. No gold.

Got a tame wolf too.

I might do something to amuse my son and build a replica of our house.

Any suggestions of fun stuff to do?
