Maybe a local academy, a COLA (absolute joke that Sydney had this and we have nothing) to cover travel and the price of everything in Perth, etc etc.

The thing thats even more irritating about this is that a few years ago, both Fremantle and West coast got one of Australia's foremost economics professors (whos name escapes me atm), who presented to the AFL hierarchy why, with figures, the cost of living in Perth was higher then that of living in Sydney.

That whole presentation was subsequently ignored in its entirety.

Mini-list cleanout should only mean disappointment as we are acknowledging that we have gone as far as we can with current crop.

Sporting fans can be a funny lot being excited and in general happy by an acknowledgement saying we had our chance, failed and need another go.

Is also a nice circuit breaker for the hierarchy, who now get a couple of years of extra fan support as long as they turn over the list and play the youngsters (cue the Dockers who are now happily putting up with the same crap or worse, that we are baying for blood for).

Mind you, wouldn't mind clarification on what a mini-rebuild is, as 2005/6 and 2015 were achieved on the back of crashing down the ladder and some nice early picks and compensation which doesn't generally come from finishing mid table.

Gov jr at the right price would be nice. But it would mean one of him or JD have to play as hff. Also extra pressure means jack performs. Interesting how we can also fit waterman into it.

Waterman has stated he wants to be a mid. We should immediately train him as a mid.

Gov and Darling would probably take pressure off one and other as neither are really a true CHF rather both being slightly smaller.

When did waterman say that?

Would have to be wasabi and wagyu beef flavour... Defs worth a look for a trade considering his injury history, though.

I hope Lycett comes good but I'm not convinced with him , it's a shame he's injured now ,it would be good to see how he would finish the year off

Hypothetically if our Gov says he wants to go to the Dockers what could we expect/want to get for him?

Jesus God forbid if that happens, gov is a bloody jet , I just don't think people realise how much we would miss him with his ability to be put forward or back and also pinch hit in the ruck

I'm hoping to god he stays. He's so important down back not only do his intercept marks save us but his kicks and decision making out of defence is elite.

I assume the minimum retirements and delistings will be:

Mitchell
Priddis
Butler
Tunbridge (r)
McInnes (r)
Brophy (r)

Then there's a few we can cut and I don't think we'll even notice:

Lamb
Giles
Rotham
Snadden (r)
Gorter (r)

Then a few established players who seem to be on the outer:

Masten
Wellingham
Hill

There's no way we'll cut all of them (and I could be wrong on some of those rookies, I don't watch much WAFL. It took Gov years to adjust to the rigours of AFL footy and he's now my favourite player), but it's going to be interesting how we go about it. There's a few others like LeCras, Mackenzie, Schofield, Cripps ... But they seem to be considered best 22 so I haven't included them here. They could be trade bait though. Maybe.

Unless we go completely out of character and trade a Gaff or a Darling or a Lycett, I'm not sure how they're going to rebuild quickly. Or even if we have to. Get the guy in that got into Lynchy's head and taught him how to mark, and we should be good to go. Get them all to wear a glove and make them look at it while chanting "it's not over until the fat Chicky sings" whenever we have a 4 goal lead. Problem solved.
