Can't get a footy fixture hard copy anywhere. AFL copyright restricted. Ridiculous.
Went to a collectibles fair in Malvern last year, guy was selling them. Bought about 30 of them for 15 bucks.

The amount of players that don't realise that if you have a kick for a deliberate out of bounds or OOB on the full that it's automatically play on if you come back into the field of play. So many players seem to be used to creeping to the middle of the ground, that they get called play on early and have to kick under pressure.

I know footballers are dumb but the coach has to sit down with them and say over and over "outside the line - not play on. Inside the line - play on"

C7 for ignoring Wayne Carey's shoddy history and giving him a job. Plenty of ex-footballers could do what he does in the commentary box.

The tone deaf moron who thought it was a good idea to let Wayne Carey present Jimmy Bartel with his award for his work around tackling domestic violence.

The way SEN have pumped up Gerard Whately calling him 'The Voice'. He's a nice enough guy but let's not go overboard.

How for two seasons commentators still pronounce Sam Menegola's name incorrectly.

That idiot BT was referring to Liam Shiels as Shiel yesterday.

It's pretty embarrassing, given Shielsy has been playing for 10 years.

Then again, he refers to Breust as Brust.

Not sure if serious or just attention whoring.

Not many can say they're the greatest of their era....

So if you were done for domestic violence would you expect to not work ever again in your industry?
Not to diminish the crime, but apply a real world philosophy to it and then reassess.

Breust is pronounced Brust is it not?
I've never heard commentators say it any other way?

My job requires a working with children check. So I probably wouldn't be able to work in my field if I got done for DV.

Working in the media is a high profile, highly paid profession. Whilst Carey was a great player I think his off field behaviour should disqualify him from such a privileged position. In this day and age where we're trying to promote respect for women I think it sends the wrong message.

Really depends on the industry.

AFL broadcasting is so exclusive I think it's reasonable to include character when making decisions. I'd have him nowhere near it, but that's the decision of Triple M and Channel 7. Absolutely pathetic from both organisations, but that's just my opinion.

Id say its irrelevant in the extreme how good he was or was not.
If your a campaigner of a bloke as he most certainly is, its good bye media street. Done, dusted, never again.
Of course he has a right ot try and make amends and live is life, but not get paid $$$ for the easy job of talking shit about footy on TV.
And if he did actually hand an award to Bartel for his work with DV, thats just so many shades of ****ed up I dont know where to start!

Does Carey's profession require him to be clear of DV crimes?
If the answer is no, I'm sorry but moral judgement doesn't come into it.

If respect for women is a prerequisite for working in the media then 90% of them will get the sack.

People get killed by drink drivers every day...do you think that people that have been done drink driving should be disqualified from their job too?

Yeah!! Because misjudging your alcohol intake and driving is at least as bad as smashing a glass in a females face! Of course it is.
****ing hell, you cant be serious.

Well its not.
It makes him more qualified for the job in that sense....than say someone who never played football.

Ah so now its how much and how easily he's making his money? So its a jealousy thing rather than about his misdemeanors.

Cant disagree with the last line. Someone made a big big error in judgement there, and then really Carey should've declined to present it given his history.

No not at all.
However, it is simply because is a campaigner.
Does it have to be more complicated than that?
Idunno, at the end of the day we will both live out or lives and never cross paths.
