In some threads people have been saying how upset they are over incorrect information regarding the victims of Bali like Jason Mcartney for example they are reporting one thing on one channel then totally different on the other.

One thing that is peeving me off lately is picking up the paper seeing someones photo on the front with the words DEAD underneath their name then reading an article on them inside the paper saying they are still missing and being searched for.

I'll tell ya wot if i was missing and was layin under some pile of ruble then got up the next mornin grabbed a herald sun that had blown over me and saw my photo with DEAD written underneath it i'd ring up the bl00dy paper and sue the b@stards! Imagine the families seeing their sons and daughters on the paper pronounced dead if they really weren't. How can on Tuesday someone be DEAD then on Wednesday they are MISSING?

Ergh... did they not even say, "Assumed dead" or something like that? Its bad, but i am not suprised. Its what gets the papers to sell, and papers have never worried too much about hurting people and offending them. Money money money.

This is a very good point as there are many families who are relying on outside sources to find out about their loved ones because they don't/can't go over to Bali to identify bodies.

Although, i'd say if you were waiting on news about a loved one, the paper would be the last thing you would be reading.

Not necessarily, my uncle used to be a famous race car driver and a few years ago he had a bad accident in the targa up at Tassy. We found out when we saw the news story on how he was dead so we were like wot the feck our uncle is dead. Well considering i saw him last week he is far from dead.

Point taken, but you weren't reading the paper or watching the news to find out what happened, i'm guessing you founding it by accident?

My point is you wouldn't be sourcing papers to find out where or what condition your loved one is in.
