Don't understand why Freo fans are getting so angry.

They don't even need him.

I don't quite understand the apparent sense of entitlement coming from some: "He only wants to come to [strike]WA[/strike] Freo therefore we shouldn't have to pay close to market value for him."

IIRC they weren't overly thrilled with the Tarrant situation. Some seem to expect that it is poor form not to follow Freo's lead (and IIRC they tried their best to get more out of that situation anyway).

The anger towards Freo Supporters is well justified when proposals such as this are put forward:
1) PSD
2) Second Round Pick
3) Compo Pick

Not one Freo Supporter has put up a decent deal that I have seen,

Also the argument that you won't play him in the ruck is void. You are still trading for a very good ruckman forward it does not matter where you intend to play him, just what he is capable of. Chris Judd is not worth a second round pick if you are intending to trade him to play as a FF, you are still trading for Chris Judd the midfielder.

Grow a Brain Freo Supporters - if your club is offering big money to a player it is clear they rate him highly, hence he is worth more than a second round pick

That would also apply to your argument on the Freo boards about having no use for a 2nd round pick (which for the record, I agree would be a silly offer).

Depends what your definition of discussion is. If it's calling posters from the other teams 'idiots' or 'delusional', or telling them 'to grow a brain' then I would suggest you not bother posting here.

If Freo really want him, they will get him, but Bond knows he's not as good as what Brisbane are making him out to be. He's had one good year and about 5 lazy half hearted years.

As Brisbane fans have quite rightly pointed out time and time again, Kerr is trying to get the best deal he can for his employer. Likewise, Bond is doing the same. Suppose the following scenario is true: Bond is 99% certain that Freo can get Mitch Clark via the PSD. How is he then getting the best deal for his employer by offering up any trade? Now suppose instead that Bond is 99% certain that Mitch Clark will not sign off on a deal with another club, but cannot guarantee that Freo will get him through the PSD. His best option (for his employer) is to offer Brisbane a trade, but one that favours Freo, with supreme confidence that no trade can be done with another team, regardless of how appealing that trade is to Brisbane.

Can you see how there are many scenarios in which the above trade proposals are in fact optimum solutions for Freo, thus if you consider any of these scenarios to be feasible, you must consider these offers to be feasible. It's all very logical.

Now, once you start talking about "value", "worth" and vague terms like that, you're entitled to be angry at the Freo proposals. However, this anger is not justified by any kind of logical argument and it could not be exclusively applied to Fremantle. In fact, the t-shirt that you just bought was made by some lovely ladies working in the Wujiang Jiayunda Textile Factory. To them, that t-shirt is worth $100 -- that is what will adequately compensate them for the effort they put in, allowing them to live a comfortable life: this is what they feel their labour is "worth". In reality, though, they are on a fairly small wage, the fabric was bought off the supplier at a significant discount (let's just say the t-shirt won't last the 2 years you were promised), and there is enough competition to drive down the price. The t-shirt cost you $30. Will you voluntarily pay $100 for the t-shirt, because somebody thinks it's worth that much? If you're pretty confident that $30 will get you the shirt, why pay $100? It's not a matter of Freo offering a "decent deal", but offering the deal that they feel is necessary to get Mitch Clark. Nobody enters any kind of bargaining situation caring about what's "decent", it's simply a mathematical system to be solved: what is achievable.

m.clark's manager is very clever/sneaky and has very quitly told clark if frem cant get the deal done simply enter the preseason draft and put 1/1.2 million on your head for 1 year and then try to force another trade to fremantle in 1 year (teams dont want players who dont want to be there particularly when they would have to pay 1 million + that way he will get a million + each year at GWS until they give in and trade him to freo

if he didnt take GWS money why would he take the dees money (melb have to pay someone monster money to even reach 92.5% of the cap)

however IMO the deal to fremantle will be done

Firstly, any price Mitch Clark puts on his head via the drafts must be for a minimum of 2 years, not 1 or his other options is to sit out of football for 23 months if another club other than his preferred one takes him via that route.

As for what the trade will be, who knows but I'm confident enough to say Clark will be playing for Freo next season, a deal will be done.

Clark and pick 34 to freo for Picks 16 and 20. Otherwise I am tipping 16 and a player like Mayne. Worst case scenario is that if he goes into the PSD and gets passed on by GWS.
